The property is stunning, very comfy and well done out.

Check in being 4 is a little late when check out is 10am. The pans could have been a bit better but this is very minor and it definitely wouldn’t put me off booking this property again.

The location was very lovely and clean, being welcomed by bunny's and ducks was a beautiful touch, we preferred the Lodge 23 as it was right at the end of road nice n quit, clean and large cabin with 2 toilets well kept grounds

The jacuzzi was unusable on the first day as the temp was set to 40 and the temp controls didn't seem to work and this was the main reason we booked the cabin, so we called reception the following day who sent a maintenance worker who pretty much was polite but refused to help saying there's not much he can do as the jacuzzi takes for ever to cool down, using it at the set temp would have given us a heat stroke, I understand it's called a hot tub but 40 degrees is a little extreme, when I suggested using the tap outside to fill he said it won't help as the tap water is heated but this was a lie, the water was cold as I tested it myself 🤷‍♂️ it took 18 hours to drop by 6 degrees, no air conditioning the cabin was like a sauna but we took our own fans luckily, the 14 days for £200 deposit to be returned is a like an interest free loan for the company its a little extreme, would return but not for the money we paid

I love this lodge as stayed there many times it is usually a home from home.

Unfortunately the level of cleanliness has declined as the price has gone up as paid nearly £150 more this time!. There was a dirty toilet brush left by the stairs at the entrance to the lodge. There was surplus dust on the tv stands and lights and one of the privacy screens were removed which left a dangerous stand with screws sticking up next to the hot tub. The boiler failed to work on the last night which meant no hot water but it was late so didnt report it until i left. The main bedroom bed was also very uncomfortable which impacted on sleep. I did encounter cleanliness issues on my previous stay but thought it was a one off. Also they no longer provide a tea tray which they have always done.

Pretty much immaculately kept, really comfortable, every little touch you can think of - examples - corkscrew, hairdryer, washing machine, iron, ample trays, utensils, pots pans, soap, washing up liquid, dishwasher - you get the picture. My point is, the items you either forget or desperately pack are already there waiting to be used. The hot tub was great and thankfully pretty simple to operate. Family of four and all said we would book again. As an aside, the onsite restaurant is good too - JJ's - just remember to book a table in advance as it does get busy quickly.

Genuinely not a gripe - there were clearly two privacy blinds positioned either end of the decking at some point which I assume could cover the entire decking. The one which would be situated nearest the hot tub was no longer in place bar the stand it would be positioned on - the one on the other side is there but the handles are broken (and which I quickly let staff know via message within minutes of checking in since I didn't want anyone seeing at the end of our visit and thinking we were responsible when we hadn't used it). It would be nice if the blinds were both in place and fully functional BUT this is such a minor thing. Either that or simply have none and get rid of the broken one which remains. In any case - this absolutely does not affect the 10/10 score.

The hot tub was clean and in great location on the decking. The location was great close to the hut bar and not far to walk to restaurant jjs food and drinks were amazing. The lodge was spacious and good quality bedding, blankets and everything we could have needed.

There was dust on the fire and under TV that obviously had not been cleaned well and it was a shame the windows were dirty in living room area.. The rest of the lodge was very clean so that was a shame

Everything. Excellent location. The interior is excellent. We have stayed at Allerthorpe many times and this is up there with the best lodges we've stayed in. The screens around the hot tub are an added bonus giving you that extra bit of privacy. The site is lovely and peaceful and the food at JJs is amazing.

The lodge couldn't be faulted. As always I find the £200 deposit extortionate. Not only that but it takes 10 days to come back. This is far too long to have to wait.
