Our stay here was hands down the best stay of our entire trip. The house was so comfortable, beautifully designed, and fully equipped with everything we could possibly need — it truly felt like a home away from home. The hosts, Mr Michi and his wife, Mrs Tomo were incredibly kind, warm, and welcoming, making us feel at ease the moment we arrived. Their hospitality added such a personal touch to our experience, and we could sense the care they put into every detail of the place. We originally planned a side trip to Beppu, but after settling in, we unanimously decided to stay in and fully enjoy the house instead. It was the perfect place to slow down, unwind, and soak in the peaceful charm of Yufuin. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. It’s not just accommodation — it’s an experience that stays in your heart long after you’ve left. I can’t wait to come back soon.

If there’s one small downside, it’s that the place wasn’t the easiest to find at first — but once we arrived, it was absolutely worth it.

Our 3D2N stay at the Sanctuary Villa was an absolute dream! 🏞️ The scenic drive through majestic mountains led us to this quiet retreat, feeling like a secret paradise. The hosts greeted us with such warmth and charm, their lovely taste evident in the serene, beautifully designed house 😍. Their thoughtful tour, complete with tips to savor morning coffee with Yufu-dake views and evening wine under a starry sky 🌟, made every moment special. The kitchen was a delight for our group, especially with our friend’s culinary talents. With fresh market ingredients and the hosts’ stunning tableware, our home-cooked meals turned into unforgettable feasts 🍽️✨. A major highlight was the expansive garden, a perfect playground for our toddler and explore safely on the soft lawn—pure joy watching him take those shaky steps! 🍼🌱 We spent golden-hour evenings snapping countless photos against the breathtaking mountain backdrop, creating cherished memories 📸. The privacy here, with no other houses in sight, just endless rolling hills, left us feeling refreshed and healed 🌄. This guest house is a true treasure, blending heartfelt hospitality, elegant design, and nature’s embrace. We left reluctant to say goodbye and are already planning our return! Highly recommend! ⭐

Nope. Everything is great

- View from every room was breathtakingly beautiful. Everyone I showed my photos of this property to, were inspired to book the place for their own stay. We regretted staying only 2 nights. - The interior design of the place is very tasteful, the kitchen is so well equipped with everything and the place was spotlessly clean. - Location was great. You feel it’s just you, the mountains and the stars alone yet it’s only 15 minutes from Yufuin town. - The owners are completely the nicest human beings and should win a medal as super hosts. We won’t able to get snow tires for our car and ran into difficulty on the icy roads. The owner graciously met us and accompanied us to his location with us following slowly behind him. The next day, he also drove us to the African Safari and lent us his car to drive into the Safari while he waited outside for us. You won’t get a better host than this.
