Cottage Trenta

De locatie is fantastisch. Het huisje is comfortabel en schoon. De hottub een leuke toevoeging.

We misten een vuurplaats/firepit. Ook was er een muffe geur in de toiletruimte. De messen waren vrij bot.

Die mäuse in der Wand haben das Vergnügen gedrübt. Geruch in der Unterkunft, ist aber in einem alten Haus zu erwarten

De locatie is fantastisch. Het huisje bied alles wat je nodig hebt, maar is wat primitief. Buiten douchen was even wennen, maar de hottub is wel echt speciaal met uitzicht op de prachtige natuur en/of sterrenhemel!

De wifi had vaak geen verbinding, waardoor onze 13 jarige een cultuurschok kreeg. Hij draaide na 1 dag bij en begon langzaam te genieten van de natuur rondom hem. Zijn broers van 8 en 11jr vonden het direct een avontuur. Zonder alle hedendaagse luxe kwamen we als gezin weer dichter tot elkaar. Nadeel was wel dat je langs buiten naar het toilet moet en er geen volledige badkamer aanwezig is.

Amazing cottage in an ideal Location for Hikes

Fully equipped cottage. Tea,spices,coffee in the kitchen. Heating. Tub in the room,hot tub under the skies,outdoor piknic table,garden,all around nature.

We had the most amazing few days at Cottage Trenta. It is totally 'away from it all' and, I will admit, a little daunting when we first got there. I soon relaxed and realised how special it was though and how lucky we were to be there. You literally are in the middle of nowhere, there is a hikers restaurant which is about 1.5 km away (and was incredible) but other than that only a few other small huts and houses, none of which you can see when you are there - you really do need a car. The cottage feels as if it is a part of the landscape, built with and around the rocks. It is basic - the running water is rainwater (drinking water is provided), there's an 'outside' loo, the shower is literally outside - but there's no one to see you washing in the open air, you're surrounded by forests and mountains. However, the modern updates are really well done, there's a wood-fired hot tub to enjoy the peace and stars from, there's free standing bath in the bedroom. Sitting outside for breakfast was one of the most special moments - utter silence other than birds, a moment to enjoy the sunshine reflecting from the mountains. Not a single indication of other people being anywhere near you. It's at the start of the Soca River and you can walk to the source of the river. We spent a day walking the Soca River Trail, which was stunningly beautiful, and then got the bus back to the end of the road. The bedrooms were simple, but what we needed. Ladder-style steps take you upstairs where there are two eaves curtained off with a sleeping area behind each and a double bedroom with the most beautiful view of the mountains. I felt like Heidi! We travelled with our 2 teenage boys and it was the first time they started talking to us that holiday! (There is a little wi-fi but not much - and they didn't need to know that ;-) ) I wouldn't recommend it to everyone, but for us it was perfect.

The parking spot was a little precarious! Not a big deal though. Nothing really though, the things that initially I didn't like soon became part of the charm. Oh - having to go outside for the loo in the night and remembering to take a torch!
