The Barley Mill

The Barley Mill is home from home. Clean, well equipped.

My only complaint is it was too hot. Wish we could control the heating.

Very pleasant apartment for two couples in a beautiful historic building located strategically close to Elgin and the beautiful Moray Coast. Well equipped dining kitchen, en suite bedrooms, comfortable sitting room, outside area, this place has it all. Lots to do and see: beaches, coast walks, fishing villages, excellent links golf courses, historic Elgin, Fort George, Culloden etc Moray weather is usually a lot better than the surrounding parts of Scotland. Would stay again.

Minor details that can be solved easily: -Lights need some attention: sitting room wall lamps tend to flicker and the kitchen hood lights did not work for us. -Electric shower head could be placed better as it is now too far in corner -Limited storage. We left golf bags in the cars

The location was exactly what we needed. The Barley Mill was comfortable with excellent facilities. Everything you could need and lovely hosts.

The thoughtfulness of the owners to cater for all types of guests. I cant thing off any thing being changed to make our stay any better. Some more sunshine would have been the icing on the cake.

Not staying longer!

Great location with beautiful grounds. The Barley Mill has been renovated and styled with a lot of thought, care and attention to detail. The kitchen is well stocked with crockery and equipment, the lounge area is very comfortable as is the bed in the main bedroom. We were lucky with the weather so can't comment on the heating but there was plenty of hot water. The garden area for the Mill is great as is the fact you can use the shared lawn area, which our dogs loved. This was our first trip away with our 2 small dogs and they were made to feel very welcome and seemed to have a great time.

Perhaps some instructions on working the TV, moving between TV and Netflix for example took a bit of working out.

Peaceful location, lovely grounds, close to beaches, golf and quiet roads for cycling. Andrea was very friendly, helpful and especially accommodating when we received some unexpected visitors.

Nothing really but one improvement might have been a gate to reduce the risk of our dogs straying into the road. But, it’s a small point and the grounds are big enough.

Excellent location! Everything you need and more, the best-equipped place we've ever stayed with lots of extras like toiletries and dressing gowns. Extremely clean and welcoming and super dog friendly. Didn't want to leave this beautifully renovated Mill House
