Prachtige Japanse woning.

The property was beautifully traditional with a peaceful Japanese garden and spacious rooms. It was very clean, well-maintained, and had thoughtful touches like tea sets and yukata. The location was quiet but still convenient to get around Kyoto. Perfect for families as well.

The check-in process was a bit confusing at first but then it got easier once the instructions was clear

Quiet, beautifully designed, clean home. The property requires you to check in and then a passcode is given to you to enter the door. For individuals who are NOT tech savvy, this could be confusing as there is no easy way to reach a live person. A phone number is listed on the reservation sheet but making an international phone call can be expensive. The site coordinator, Yen, came to greet us about 45 minutes after we arrived. She was courteous.

There is NO easy way to reach a live person during the stay other after scanning the QR code INSIDE the property through which you text to a person in another location. There is no quick way to reach a live person if you have a concern or an emergency. The large bathtub has ONLY Japanese instructions. I could not find any instructions in English. I accidentally pushed the wrong button and the tub almost overflowed rather than emptying the tub water as I intended. They need to make sure clear ENGLISH instructions are available in the bathroom or in the welcome binder since there are international visitors who stay at this location.

The traditional feel

Maybe let people have a few moments to actually look around and enjoy their initial moments of arriving. Our greeting person was immediately on the doorstep to tell us everything and give us all the instructions on everything which was very helpful but intense. We would have been calmer and more peaceful if we’d had a moment upon arrival to take our shoes off, put our bags down and breathe before the instructions.

Very responsive host with great hospitality. The house is absolutely beautiful. We would love to visit again!

Nice bathroom, nice back courtyard, relaxing lounge area, good air-conditioning.

Would have been nice to have access to Netflix. A supply of western tea bags and milk would be appreciated. It was a generally difficult and confusing process to only receive the door access code once we were standing in front of the actual house. We were uncertain that access would be obtained as we travelled there.
