Wuz Kamogawa

It was authentic / quaint and completely a true Japanese experience. A modern , comfortable , yet very traditional experience of Japanese living beside a beautiful wide canal. A 15/20 min walk from the main streets. Quiet and peaceful. We even managed a table to a Michelin Guide Ramen place suggested by the host. We were 5 of us. There’s 4 beds on Tatami mats and one regular bed. The house is situated in a narrow street so if you come by taxi you may have to walk a small distance by foot. Cycling around in Kyoto or walking or taking a cab is very doable.

There’s nothing not to like. Unless you want to stay in the middle of the busy areas.

We really enjoyed our stay in Wuz Kamogawa a lot! The location is excellent and the house a real treasure! It was truly a japanese experience!

Staff is so kind, helpful, and really fluent in English! This place is fully equipped(a/c system, hinoki bath tub, bose audio and even balmuda oven!), and a fresh mixture between japanese traditional ryokan and modern house! The small garden inside of the house is so beautiful! The surrounding area is so quiet and peaceful!

We had to leave so soon!

The home was conveniently located on the Kamo River and close to Kyoto Station. We loved waking up and opening the sliding doors on the second floor to see the ducks and herons in the morning. The home is an architectural dream - they've made indoor/outdoor living a main focus while maintaining privacy and comfort.

Very Artistic, Beautiful, well maintained. The perfect fusion of modern but still felt encapsulated by culture.

The property is in a lovely location and it really stylish! I loved the styling, the internal garden and lighting. Our host Yumi was lovely and really helpful. she responded quickly to messages. The kitchen had oil, pepper, tea, coffee, washing powder, toothbrush etc. Amazing!!

The shower is water pressure was low, but it wasn’t a worry because the house was so lovely.
