Some equipment is tired and in need of replacing: garden parasol, garden furniture, freezer and some pans.

Its location. Absolutely amazing.

No wifi.

The place was very comfortable and clean. Right next to the benagil cave. We also easy to find even though is a bit far from city. But very close to the benagil beach - really nice. With a rooftop - good :)

There were very low quantity of toilet paper for 2 days. Or at least could have been said to bring our own. Because the apartment is a bit far from the local supermarket, so not easy to buy.

You can’t beat the location! The yard and patio were where we spend 90% of our time when at the house. Would have been nice to have an additional umbrella on the rooftop patio but we were perfectly happy being down in the yard. You occasionally have people walking by to get to the trails by the cliffs, but this didn’t bother us at all, in fact we often smiled and said hello :) The kitchen had everything you need, just need to buy some napkins/paper towels from the grocery store (5 minute drive away). There was a welcome basket with some cookies/crackers/jam and fresh cleaning supplies annd dishwasher tablets. Super thoughtful of the hosts/rental company. Also has a TV with streaming capability. Directly from the house are trails connecting you to Benagil beach (boats/kayak tours) and Marinha beach to the east, but we actually preferred hiking west to the lighthouse Faro de Alfanzina which had a small forest on the way and then going to the small town Alfanzina which had the best Indian food we’ve ever had (Pashmina) and a small grocery store (expensive) and a nice Italian restaurant with amazing pizza. Carvoeiro is a short drive away with a free parking lot, has a nice beach to relax, and some stores and more restaurants. If you enjoy hiking and some peace and quiet this is the perfect place :) but if you’re looking for night life you may have to look elsewhere. For us it was perfect for a few days to relax and also explore nature :) I think a group of 4 friends would be comfortable here.

Master bathroom/closet had a slight musty smell, but tolerable. I’ve come to realize this is common in many Portuguese places especially when they use the local dark brown wood. I’m sensitive to smells though and was okay for me. My partner of course didn’t notice one bit. This would not stop me from staying here again, just something to be aware of. Also a common issue in tropical places in the warmer months are mosquitos. We just kept our bedroom doors closed during the day and used the A/C to keep down the humidity at night (since the windows don’t have screens) and it was all good. Also worth noting you’ll have to pay a 300€ deposit which was refunded to us within a week or so of our stay. You’ll also have to provide your ID information before check in (standard for Portugal). This place was overall exactly what we were hoping for! :)
