We received a wonderful welcome from the owner's father, who showed us the details of the apartment and gave us plenty of tips about the town, as well as the receipts for the tourist tax and the payment of the apartment. The location is top class, right in the old town but not on one of the busy streets of Lecce, perfect for us. The kitchen was very well equipped and even had some start-up food and drinks for us: pasta, tomato sauce, water etc. A lovely and very useful touch as we arrived late and were too tired to go out. The aircon and wifi worked very well and the bedroom was very comfortable. The owner stayed in touch on WhatsApp during our stay to check we had everything we needed, which was very nice.

When we booked, only one apartment was showing as available and we didn't understand that the owner in fact proposes two different apartments. The photographs seem mixed up so we expected a pleasant living room with a sofa and a window. However the apartment we stayed in only had a bedroom, a small bathroom and a tight galley kitchen with appliances along one wall and a table and kitchen chairs along the other. The only natural light comes in through a backdoor from the bedroom and the upper glazing of the front door which gives onto the street. We were disappointed not to have a living room to relax in, especially as we were there 4 days. I've just checked again and both apartments are now available, both called "one-bedroom house". Maybe the description of the property could be improved to avoid such disappointment. For any future bookings of apartment or houses, I will definitely double-check whether a living room is included, rather than book a bedroom with kitchen as it didn't quite suit our needs.
