Caravan site was basic and looked a bit unloved / had some roudy neighbours

Loved the location of astoria. The caravan was stunning full of everything u need. Definitely recommend.

If I'm being very picky be the signal of the router is 5g which should be perfect but was getting 2meg max 5. But maybe being that far out to be away from my phone. But I'm nitpicking really.

Cleanliness

The property is very clean, the staff is helpful

I thought the property is near Loch Lomond but it is an hour drive before you reach the cross road to Loch Lomond or fort Williams so the road added an hour in each direction.

Peacefull and quiet. I love it. Very clean and well-equipped caravan. Nice and helpfull host. Beautiful, sandy beach 3 minutes walk from here. I'd love to visit again.

Absolutely NOTHING did we like about this place!! ⚠️AVOID AT ALL COSTS⚠️ Worst place we've EVER stayed, although the place was clean enough, the cons outweighed the pros on this occasion! The only good thing I can say is we left in such a hurry that I left my phone. The owner sent it to me through a special post. I did offer to pay for the cost, but she hung up the phone on me before I could get any details off her!!

⚠️ AVOID AT ALL COST ⚠️ If you're ok with living in a caravan sitting on a cesspit, then it's the perfect place for you. We were booked at The Astoria for 6 nights. We arrived on the Monday the 3rd June 2024 after 4pm ended up leaving on the Wed morning, if it hadn't been for the fact that we travelled for 3 and a half hours and my 80yr old mother and our 14 year old dog that are not good travellers then we would have been home on the Tuesday! The STENCH of excrement that surrounded the caravan was UNBEARABLE!!!! We had to close every window and every door because of the stink. My mother is claustrophobic and could not bear to have all the windows and doors closed, but we had no choice it was disgusting we had to. We felt like caged animals. The site was like a caravan graveyard. It was like a building site, all derelict, caravans with no one in them, the site was empty. Nowhere for the kids to play, nothing for them to do. There was a big turret in the middle of the park all derelict and dangerous looking, it was just disgusting the whole site. The caravan round the outside decking was all needing re painted.The outside seating equipment was all flaking and needing replaced it also had no cushions for the outside seating.... not that we could sit outside anyway. There was a hoover still full never been emptied, the plug was broken!! No instuctions on how to use the TV, the washing machine, or the dishwasher. No oven dishes to put your food in the oven. The frying pans were absolutely disgusting and refused to use them. The dishwasher was still full, plus a broken glass in it from whoever was there before. Not enough cutlery, nowhere to hang your washing after washed (after figuring out how to use the machine myself!) certainly would not hang it outside. The sofa bed did not fold out properly. The springs were jagging through the mattress, so no one could sleep on it, had to just sleep on the actual seating in the living room.

The chalet was a great size and very modern. It was really comfortable with all the facilities you would need for a self catering stay. Would definitely return!

Really had a good time

Location, decor was up to date in the Astoria, it felt private and peaceful.

Think the seating area in the lounge could be doing with some attention. A gravel or paved area for parking would be beneficial as when we were leaving it was raining heavily, we all got muddy loading the car to leave. Decking area outside would benefit from a coat of fence life.
