"Good stay but could have been better."

8.0

The view was incredible, we were able to see Findhorn Bay and watch cruise ships and fighter jets go by. Hot tub was a great addition as well for relaxing after a day at the beach. The cabin next to ours was empty all week so we enjoyed the whole place to ourselves which was an added bonus.

The farm road leading to the property is well used and full of potholes, so it was an uncomfortable ride getting there. Property didn't have WiFi, which meant only freeview was available. When it was windy, the picture would cut out, making it unwatchable. There were quite a lot of flies which on one occasion in the hot tub made it unbearable and we had to go back inside. After staying, we felt the price paid was overpriced for what it was. I would stay again but only if it was cheaper.

The views were spectacular and the location was so peaceful. The lodge was prefect with everything we needed. It was cosy, very clean with a lovely area to enjoy sitting and eating outdoors. The woodland gardens on the estate were beautiful and really worth exploring. Having the hot tub with an extra bonus and a perfect way to enjoy the amazing sunsets. There was lots of lovely places to visit nearby and the staff were really friendly and helpful. We will definitely be returning.

That we had to leave.

"Fully equipped, warm lodge, in a great location."

9.0

Isolated location, very little light pollution so great for watching the stars. Very quiet and scenic with the forest behind. Loved watching the stars from the hot tub and a few military jets that went over. We visited in March and the lodge was still lovely and warm, even when the temperature outside was close to zero. All facilities available that you could want (fridge freezer, oven, hob, microwave, etc)

The roads going up to the lodges were full of potholes and difficult to navigate. A suggestion for improvement would be to create a secure area for dogs. We were lucky that our elderly dog didn't wander too far, but more energetic dogs could easily get lost in the forest, or wander off down the road.

"Fantastic family getaway!"

10.0

The property for us was perfect. Spacious enough but not too big to get lost in. It was clean and had everything we needed. It is tucked away but not too remote which is perfect for a quiet getaway

There was very little we didn’t like. Maybe having some more lighting beside the hot tub would have been handy. The grass area was very wet, likely due to the weather and probably not an issue in the summer but as a result the kids had limited places to get outside and play.

"It was perfect."

10.0

It was exceptionally clean. The heating was easy to use and very warm. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The hot tub was wonderful and worked perfectly. There was nothing we could fault.

Option for extra towels would have been useful, as a family of 5 they take a lot of room packing. I never actually requested them though so it may well have been possible.

"Thoroughly enjoyable."

9.0

The property was very comfortable and had outstanding views over Findhorn Bay. The heating was very efficient. The hot tub was excellent and a real bonus. The kitchen was well equipped and there was plenty of hot water.

There were many potholes on the road to the property; they need to do something about that. There was no coffee, tea, or sugar, supplied and no bathroom products which I would have expected for the price. Although I wasn’t bothered about the lack of WiFi, I think that might put a number of people off staying there. I’m not sure how they could provide that.

The view from the lodge is absolutely stunning and it’s very peaceful. It was really helpful to have a washing machine, dishwasher and hair dryers etc. it is remote but it’s worth it for the view and if you have a reasonable sized car which can handle the farm roads it’s no issue. There were 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The en-suite and double bedroom is quite small with luggage in there as well but we liked the open lay out of the living areas.

Although it seemed clean initially, when we were looking under the beds to get toys the kids had dropped it was dirty/dusty and we found a laptop bag and small toys left by previous guests. The hot tub had sand and debris in it when we first went and the description said it was cleaned regularly. The bar for the lid of the hot tub was missing which meant it was hard to put on and off. We didn’t use it much so we didn’t flag this up. The 2 bedroom lodge does overlook the 3 bedroom lodge decking so it didn’t feel as private as expected. The kick board under the dishwasher moves out every time you open and shut the dishwasher, It’s also a shame given other properties we stayed in on our trip that no welcome message was left. It would have been nice if there was some basic provisions like tea, milk, salt and pepper. Given the remote location and short stays it’s frustrating to have to buy things like that and most other properties provide them.
