Everything. It was really close to town and all amenities. The cottage was spotlessly clean with a super comfy bed and good strong shower.

"Superb cosy, old and well refurbished cottage in ideal central location"

10.0

I loved the location which is very handy for dog walks around the three Hexham parks. It is also central to the ancient market place and Abbey as well as all of the cafes, cinema, theatre, etc. It had everything I needed as a solo traveller staying for 11 days. It now has a small freezer as well as a fridge. Thank you, Maxine. I love the design of the interior. At the top of the stairs, you immediately enter the bedroom which has a small en suite with a bath and an excellent shower. There is also an overhead velux window with a blind operated by a remote control. Eden's House is in a small terrace of 6 cottages in a historic part of Hexham which includes buildings which have a link to the old tannery business. There is a visitors parking permit allowing you to park immediately behind the cottage. Thank you, Maxine. Thank you Maxine for providing such a welcoming and cosy cottage.

Clarification on the use of the wheellie bins would be useful. There was clearly a green general waste wheelie bin. Previous users of the cottage appeared to use this for recycling too. It was unclear where the black recycling bin was located.

A lovely cottage, comfy but with all mod cons. Good position to access town centre and also historic sites.

It was a little difficult to find.

"A nice wee place, and very handy."

7.0

Comfortable little property. Very close to town and some lovely parks and walks. Easy to access by road. Nice stovetop, extractor, and fridge. Has a washing machine, which was expected but was not there in the next property. Also provided a frame for hanging washing which was handy. Nice little Nespresso machine.

The bathroom needs some maintenance. Sealing around toilet, water leakage issue for shower/bath. Would be advisable to get those sorted as they're not big, just bringing the property down a bit. Would be nice to pop some UHT milk in the fridge for arrival. The supermarket is close by, but handy for late or tired arrivals.

"Quirky, central, dog friendly (by permission) cottage"

10.0

A quirky dog friendly cottage in an old part of Hexham, very close to the old town centre and market place. The nearby dog friendly coffee shops and cafes were ideal to meet friends. I was brought up in Hexham and many of my close friends still live in or around the area. It was an ideal location for my beloved elderly dog as within 2 minutes of the three Hexham parks. The bowling green is a lovely place to sit with your dog on a nice day and chat with passer-bys and other dog walkers. It is about a 5 minute walk to the cinema and similar for the Queens Hall theatre. It was excellent having the visitors' car parking permit and so easy to find a parking place in the designated H5 parking area. I loved the one up, one down style of the cottage. A small hall to hang coats and place shoes. A packet of welcome biscuits awaited me which was a very pleasant and unexpected surprise. Thank you. I found the cottage very relaxing, cosy and comfortable. It is an excellent find and I was so grateful my dog was allowed to stay with me. He is my loyal companion as I have virtually no close family left. A huge thank you. I would cetainly recommend the cottage.

As part of the welcome pack, there was a pint of whole milk. I do not drink any dairy milk. I will try to remind you before my next visit to not leave any for me. I did find a good home for it though. There was no information about bin collections and what to place in each wheellie bin. Luckily, I knew having regularly visited or lived in Hexham for most of my life. It also was not clear which bins belonged to 5 Giles Place. I noticed that there was a couple of black bin bags in the black wheellie bin which is supposed to be for recycling without items being bagged. I did remove the black bin bags which seemed to contain a mixture of waste to a green wheellie bin which is for general waste. Also, weeds were flourishing and coming out of the ground at the front and back of the house. I did pull out the weeds at the front of the house to make it look as tidy as the other holiday cottage on the end. I missed having an ice box in the fridge. I did have to use a friend's freezer for frozen food. I think the only real problem is the lack of information about the wheellie bins and collection days. For me, also the ice box was quite an inconvenience. Otherwise, everything was perfect. Thank you.
