El Balcón del Sol

Nice apartment located in a calm area. Good for longer stays. Well equipped. Grocery store close by. Nice view to the nature.

All was good. Not very accessible without a car.

The accomodation was perfect for us - being a couple who is mostly out and about in nature, but likes to come back to a cozy, quiet, conveniently located accomodation in the evenings. The apartment is spacious, equipped with everything you might need from kitchen utensils, cloth hangers, enough towels, even a small library. I especially loved the bedroom, into which you had to descend a few stairs - very comfy feeling! The balcony is huge and has a great view, and - as you might have guessed from the name - sun almost the whole day. The location is great, just outside of Arucas (lovely, authentic town by the way!), but a rental car is necessary. Shower was great and always hot. Beds let us sleep like babies. Carolina was the most lovely host and the communication was always quick, easy and nice. Check-in went swiftly with a deposited key. We couldn´t have asked for a more relaxed start into our holidays and a better basecamp for our stay!

ONLY ONE RESTAURANT AND 2 SHOPS !!! ! BASIC NO FRILLS , NO CHARCOAL FOR BAR B Q AND WHEN WE CARRIED IT BACK THERE WAS NO MATCHES OR LIGHTER SO HAD TO WALK BACK ALONG WINDING MOUNTAIN ROADS TO SHOP AGAIN, YOU MUST HAVE TRANSPORT !!

Carolina was very welcoming when we arrived although, in spite of having been asked to specify an arrival time our arrival at the property seemed a surprise to her. The apartment was spacious and reasonably equipped, however there was no electric kettle even though one was listed in the booking.com equipment list. The hot water ran out in the middle of a first shower in the morning. The worst feature of the property was nylon sheets: these were so unpleasant that we slept on the beds rather than in them.

It was a pleasure to stay in Samuel and Carolina's apartment. The house is beautiful and well-kept. The very large balcony is excellent for grilled fish from the island. Samuel and Carolina are kind, helpful and reliable hosts.

We had a problem with the boiler but the host quickly repaired it the same day.
