A magical hideaway overlooking the river Boyne

Magical hideaway is really an experience. Stunning location, breathtaking views, history on your doorstep.

Finding it is a bit tricky. Google Maos/ Waze takes you a couple of metres beyond the entrance gateway. Could be useful to point to the "red daub of paint on the gate"/ "opposite the tiger sculpture".

The location for us was perfect, very peaceful setting and stunning views.

We were not able to have a shower for a few days! Unfortunately there is no power in the shower and the water was too hot. A handyman arrived unannounced, it would have been nice to have been asked about this prior to his arrival. We loved the stay but for the stay a shower should be included as an option.

The propert is a pleasant location

When we arrived, the property had not been cleaned after the previous occupant. Bed used, dirty towels and generally unclean. We rang the owner. 4 hours later he called back to say he couldn't reach the cleaner. He said there was clean linen in the cupboard. There wasn't, only soiled pillowcases. We had to vacate the cottage for the cleaner the next day. Then a workman arrived on the last day and disconnected the water. The owner said he would give a partial refund if we didn't write a review. He disputed the sum, wanting us to cover the cleaning costs (!) and his booking.com charges. Then he didn't pay up anything, despite agreeing to do so. I would NOT recommend this cottage or owner.

- Lovely old building, pretty well restored, very quiet and peaceful - Key pickup went ok, but would have been nice to meet the owner - Kitchen facilities were quite good

- Upset to see dramatically different pricing just a few days after I left. - Place is way overpriced for what you get - Location is nice, but got quite the surprise when members of the public began walking their dogs past the front door early in the morning. a small sign nearby stated that the area is a public right of way...no mention of that in the property description

De locatie was geweldig, midden in de natuur naast de rivier. Fantastische wandelmogelijkheden. Ook het roze bankje op de heuvel was geweldig, wat een uitzicht. Het huisje zelf was een beetje rommelig, maar o zo gezellig. 's Avonds was het heerlijk vertoeven met z'n allen bij de open haard.

De douche en het kookstel hadden een gebruiksaanwijzing, maar het is allemaal gelukt.

L'absence de réponses de l'hôte à nos mails de contact préparatoires, le fait que le logement n'avait pas été préparé et laissé sale avec une fuite à l'évier de la cuisine. Le manque de matériel basique (couverts, verres) et pour certains usagés (ie grille-pain, bouilloire). Le mobilier de jardin n'est pas utilisable. Heureusement que nous n'avons pas eu besoin des multiples chauffages électriques. Présence de nombreuses choses inutiles voire sales dans les placards.

Amazing location opposite the river Boyne. Very pretty house and historic setting which suited our taste.

We had problems with the boiler and hot water resulting in either freezing cold or boiling hot showers. The wood for the fire potentially was not dried out enough and there was no kindling therefore the fire kept going out. I have no problems keeping fires lit at home so it was nothing to do with a lack of fire making skills. The house generally felt as though it needed a bit of money spending on the interior although it was very characterful. There were only electric heaters, no central heating therefore I imagine it is very cold in Winter and late Autumn.

The location is amazing, the place is very cute, bathroom is very modern, floors are very cold in Oct but the wood stove made up for it!

Wifi didn't work at first, had to be reset. Hot water didn't work at first, had to be reset and heat up.

Beautiful location, traditional cottage, peaceful and quiet.

The Wi-Fi didn’t work for us, but it wasn’t a big deal.
