The Star Inn

The room was very comfortable. Recently refurbished, nice comfortable beds and great hot shower. We arrived after walking the Glyndwr way and were rather wet from a day walking in the rain; the host had a drying room which was very good for drying out wet gear. The Star Inn has a nice little bar that provided a nice dinner, nice pint and had some board games to entertain you after your day. The Star Inn was also able to provide us with a pack lunch for the following day walking, which was invaluable in such an isolated location.

Amazing location in the Cambrian mountains and a warm welcome after climbing the Machynlleth Mountain Road. Richard was exceptionally friendly and helpful and we also really enjoyed the cosy ambience and food.

I was met on arrival by the owner and welcomed into the Inn. He was very personable and I really appreciated his care on my arrival, especially with the offer of a beer. Clean and comfortable room with fantastic views and a lovely front room for meals. Great evening meal and breakfast too. I understand that the place was reopening as a pub again a couple of weeks after my stay in mid July, so I really wish them every success.
