There is one enclosed room and the other room is without a curtain or door for privacy. Will be suitable for a small family but beyond 5 pax, it will be uncomfortable due to the lack of a proper second bathroom. Select the south villa if you have bulky luggage as it is nearer to the carpark.

Essentially there is only one proper bathroom. the other one located on the first floor is really tiny and very cold in winter. Property should consider installing a couple more lights especially at the dining area and the kitchen. it was uncomfortably dim even in the day time.

A lot of space and facilities to use in the house. The baths were already filled with warm water, which was nice after a long day.

The public transport was limited (especially since we travelled there on Saturday), so we had to take at Taxi from Gotemba since we missed our bus, because of other delays. The taxi driver had trouble with the address, so we showed the route on Google maps instead.

It was a comfortable place with some good amenities. The kitchen had all the cooking utensils including portable induction hobs for bbq outside. The bathrooms were great especially with the onsen in the main bath. The lounge comfortable and big enough for 2 couples. Laundry facility was good. The beds were comfortable.

The backyard is too messy. Our apartment 10 north is quite noisy with traffic. The downstairs bathroom is a bit small. The curtain for the mezzanine needs to wrap around to the hallway to seal it off with the curtain. It would be beneficial to have a separate dryer instead of a mixed washing machine and dryer. The outside foot bath is not really warm enough. The parking is offsite but not a huge problem as its only a 2 min walk down foot path. The only caveat is that on the morning we were leaving, there were cars parked for another property and this disallowed us to get our luggage out easily. Photos of the offending cars are noted. The parking spaces for the North apartments are only for loading and unloading luggage which is in big writing on the sign.

The amenities are lovely and modern.

The location and the staff. It was impossible to get a taxi to come out there. My experience with the staff really soured our stay. On our first day there, there were no taxis in Uber, and unfortunately there was a staff shortage and some buses were canceled that day. After waiting an hour for buses that never came (with 2 kids in a pram, on the side of a busy windy country road), I called the number provided by the accomodation. The first time, they told me they couldn’t help me book a taxi because they don’t get paid for it and repeatedly told me they wouldn’t help, and to download go taxi. I did and you need a Japanese number for it. I called again to ask if there is anything else I can do and they again repeatedly insisted they wouldn’t help and to talk to the nearest train station (it’s a 1.5 hour walk). I called back to try and ask if they knew of a closer station and they told me they were done helping me and HUNG UP ON ME before I could even finish explaining what had happened. This is while I was sweating trying to push my pram through gravel to get back to the house. This place is FAR, and not family friendly or even remotely friendly. Also some taxi drivers will refuse to take you out here.
