I had the whole house which had everything - bbq, fridge, breakfast served (eggs and ham plus juice), quiet, up on a hill great view, pool, comfortable bed and lots of space. Can definitely house a family no problem. Ixtapa is a peaceful place with bike paths that go on and on. Zihua is more busy and hills more commercialized. But, no big american box stores alike many mexican tourist destinations have succumb to. Ixtapa still has some mexican charm and authentic restaurants where as Zihua the tourist district has been taken over by cardiologist food (steaks and burgers - yuk). Ixtapa is nice lots to do from hiking, biking, relaxing and wonderful places to eat. See the reserve or go to a rustic beach. Taxis are kind of a rip-off but there are collectives and microbuses that will take you places.

the jacuzzi didn't work and no hot water but thats mostly in mexico. I would get rid of the jacuzzi.
