Summer Houses in Afytos

The location was good, it was quiet and there was enough place for our group of 7. The hosts were helpful and answered fast. There was a parking right in front of the house.There were towels and shampoos.

There are an underground floor (-1) and two more floors (1st and 2nd). There were air conditioners only at the first and the second floor, the underground one had just a fan. The room that is on that floor (-1) had no door so it’s a few steps away from the living room on the first floor. It was not the cleanest place I’ve ever been. We had no wi-fi 2 of the 5 days we were staying. On the underground floor (-1) the shower head had to be held all the time because there was no way to keep it on the wall. Maybe if I knew all that I would reconsider renting the house.

Lawn in front of the houses

1. location - the houses are on a main road, that means it is very loud. The noise is especially in the night pretty unpleasant. If you want to go to Afytos by foot, you have to go on the main road for about 300m, which is quite dangerous at the evening, because there is no pavement along the main road. 2. houses - we were in house No 1. There are 3 rooms in the house. However, one room is in the basement without door!?! That means, if you have „luck“ to stay in that room, you will not have a private sphere. 3. Interior - water supply in a WC did not work properly. We informed the owner, a handyman came relatively promptly, but he could not fix it. Both WC in the house were not cleaned. There are ants in the house. You should not leave food unpacked somewhere. Dishes - there are some dishes, glasses, but just one knife. Mosquitoes - you have to bring something against mosquitoes with you.

We were staying at the summer houses for 5 days. It is really close to the center ( about 7 minutes ) so it is at a great location. The house was clean, cozy and big enough. It is also close to the beach. I highly recommend!

Host tried to help but cleaning was very bad.

There were spiders nets, ants, insects everywhere. Sheets were dirty we used our own. Kitchenware was not enough. Plates, cups, spoons etc were deficient. There arent dishwasher, washing machine. Wifi connection was very bad. Beds are not comfortable, one of them was problematic. The host tried to solve cleaning problem, sent cleaning lady but the cleaning was not good everything stayed same.

Property was great, comfy , with AC in every room, nice garden with sea view.

Late check in policy

The position was great. We went to the city and to the beaches by foot. Also any other beach was max 30min by car away. Also it was great that there was a lot of space in the garden with many chairs and tables. Great for party.

1. Be careful about what "house" means. In the picture you see 2 buildings (house 1 and house 2), which are actually duplexes, so a "house" means half of a building. So in the whole yard there are 4 houses. When I booked, only 2 houses were available, and considering the picture of 2 buildings I assumed that Im renting both of them and that we are going to be alone. And in reality we only rented one house. We wanted to be alone there because we wanted to party during the nights without bothering anybody. (Rooms are unequally equipped) 2. Every "house" has 4 rooms and only 2 of them have AC, and this is not mentioned in the description. I find this unacceptable in Greece, where it is super hot during the summer. 3. In every "house" there is a bathroom at the top floor, and one in the semi-basement. And those at the semi-basement don't have a drain in the floor. So basically water just stays there. (Houses are unequally equipped) 4. Each "house" has 2 bathrooms, but only 1 out of the 4 has a hairdryer. It means that if we would have rented a single house, we would not have had a hairdryer. 5. Only one house had a sandwich maker. So the houses cost the same, but you dont get the same benefits, and in each house, 2 rooms have AC, hairdryer and a drain in the bathroom, while the other 2 ones have none of these. The place was ok overall, but my main issue was that I wasn't informed about these things beforehand and I feel scammed, lied to.
