Old Drift House

Very picturesque with a beautiful garden.

The crockery, cutlery, glasses and pans were all dirty and had to be thoroughly cleaned before use. The dishwasher was not working properly - even when only half full. There was only one key between the 6 of us so we had to use the ‘emergency key’. The owners and the cleaners arrived (and came into the house) before 10am while we were packing the cars - notwithstanding the fact we had been given a 10-10.30am check-out time. This was most disconcerting. As a result we felt under pressure to leave and my parents were unable to use the bathroom before they left as they were already being cleaned. This was a disappointing end to what was otherwise a relaxing stay.

The property is beautiful

Sadly not all bedrooms are separate and they link so my colleagues found they had to go through each others bedrooms to get to their own room which wasn't ideal and it affected their privacy. I am sure if you are a family this wouldn't be such an issue. The hosts were absolutely lovely. Its an old cottage so very beautiful and I am sure due to the age of the property this is the reason the upstairs rooms are configurated in the way they are, I believe quite a few older properties around Suffolk and Norfolk have similar layouts.
