Barn Cottages at Lacock

The cottage is located within a short distance from some of the prettiest villages in the Wiltshire area. As such it makes it a great base for exploration. It is also close to Chippenham with its shopping centre and historical buildings. The cottage is on a quiet lane surrounded by fields. The view out the back of the cottage is towards the west so were treated to some spectacular sunsets. The facilities are plentiful with all the kitchen tools you would need for a stay. The owners were around and introduced themselves to us. A lovely couple who were keen to make us comfortable. Ours was one of three in a row barn conversions. The second bedroom is on a mezzanine floor with some very steep steps, think "fixed ladder". So this could be a consideration with younger children. Each cottage has a patio area out front with a table and sun umbrella. A nice place to sit with a holiday beer in the cool of the evening.

I cant think of anything that spoiled our stay there.

The location is fab just outside Lacock village a" must visit " So peaceful and relaxing. Very comfortable accommodation everything you could possibly need. Even a utility room with big fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and airers etc. The hosts were great we saw Jane and Derek most days around the properties, they couldn't be more helpful with ideas of places to visit, and just generally nice people going above and beyond what we were expecting. Without intruding on your privacy in any way. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. The veiws of the fields from the bedroom windows were fantastic some amazing sunsets captured 👌

The only thing was that we could find an iron, but no ironing board.

A very clean cute little cottage with a nice garden in a quiet location and an excellent Host Jane. As soon as I did the booking, Jane shared all the details we needed to during the stay along with list of nearby stores and restaurants. I reached 30 minutes before the check-in time; it was ready to check-in. We preferred self-catering accommodation and this cottage was well equipped so that we did even miss our kitchen.

The day we checked-in was a very hot day, the kids struggled during the night at mezzanine floor; a fan or a mini cooler might have helped.

The host was very welcoming. It had a good shower

The beds and pillows were really uncomfortable. My husband is 6’4” and his legs didn’t fit on the bed, which was made worse by the wooden bed frame. We were a family of four and found the place slightly under-equipped for us. It would probably be fine for a couple, but I wouldn’t say it’s suitable for families, especially those with small children, due to the very steep staircase.

Lovely self-catering cottage in an excellent location near to Chippenham. It's a small cottage with the second bedroom in the roof up a steep flight of stairs but absolutely ideal for a short stay. Everything that we could have wanted was catered for - washing-up liquid and dishwasher tablets, tissues, kitchen roll etc (which are often not in other properties). Parking was good as well with plenty of room and an utterly charming host, who welcomed us when we arrived and then left us to ourselves, but with immediate contact details should anything have gone amiss - which it didn't...

There was absolutely nothing that any of the three of us could think of that could be improved at all. It was a very lovely place to stay and we would happily go back.

A lovely location up a lane off a main road so it felt properly in the country but it was easy to get out and about to places like Laycock, Corsham, Frome, etc. etc. Very peaceful and tranquil, clean and well equipped - we very much enjoyed our short break.

The stairs to the upper bedroom are steep and wouldn't be suitable for an older couple or, I think, for young children

Stunning cottages in a lovely secluded spot. The accommodation had everything we needed.
