Casa Emerenciana

Gostámos muito do facto de ser uma casa antiga, típica da ilha. Também gostámos muito da localização e da tranquilidade do lugar.

A casa precisa de uma reforma para proporcionar uma experiência mais cómoda e confortável. Não ficámos nada satisfeitos com a limpeza. A presença de formigas é aceitável, mas a de baratas não.

Warm welcome from owner. Peaceful location. Plenty of space for the two of us. Interesting rustic property. Plenty of towels, including beach towels.

Advised not to use oven and hob at the same time. No form of heating at all even in the cool January evenings. Although Casa Emerenciana has lots of rustic charm parts of it need some attention, e.g. loose tap, flaky plaster. It suited the two of us but wouldn't really work for the advertised capacity of six.

WE WERE LEFT WITHOUT ACCOMMODATION ON NEW YEAR'S EVE!!!

The owner refused to give us the keys to the apartment. In the morning, we asked her when we could check into the apartment. To which she replied that she needed time to prepare them. At 4:00 PM, she wrote that the apartment was ready and she was waiting for us there. We responded that we would arrive in the evening because we were on the other side of the island and couldn't come immediately. (The check-in time was from 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM) After that, she started calling us and said that if we didn't come immediately, she would cancel the booking. All attempts to explain to her that we couldn't come immediately were in vain. We offered that we could collect the keys from any possible location, asking her to send us the address, to which she responded that it was either now or she would cancel the booking. She didn't want to listen to us, switched to Spanish, shouted at us, and her level of English was bad . After that, we asked our friend who knows Spanish (he was not with us) to call her and negotiate, but this was also in vain. She spoke to him rudely, impolitely, and raised her voice, even though he was just trying to help us. She told him, let your friends find a place to stay elsewhere, but they won't be in my house. After this, we tried to contact her again, but she didn't answer. We also called Booking support, and they too tried to contact her, but it was equally fruitless Conclusion: we were left without accommodation on New Year's Eve.

Very nice, big and comfortable hose in a middle of nowhere. For those who want to get away from it all.

The property is wonderful and a very refreshing change from corporate hotels.. it is furnushed in an authentic Canarian style and has a peaceful ambience inside. The bed was very comfortable and the property is very clean. It is a lovely relaxing place to stay and the host is very friendly. You will need a car to stay here but lots of things are within easy reach... its a haven to return to after a day out.

Everything was great.

The location was amazing with beautiful views from the patio areas. The house was charming and the host Juana was so very kind.

Lovely property and location. Very quiet and peaceful. Close enough to resorts and the national park.

Although we speak a fair amount of Spanish communication was a bit difficult although we managed. Juana was very nice and helpful. I had to contact Booking.com twice to contact the owner as she hadn't replied to emails. Otherwise no problems.

The location is perfect if you want a tranquil stay away from the busy beach resorts, very rural and private. Lovely gardens in the front and the rear of the property to sit and enjoy breakfast or an afternoon drink. We were only 2 people so found the 2 bedrooms spacious, plus also the dining and sitting area, a well equipped kitchen to prepare a simply breakfast.

We booked the property because of the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, however, the shower door was broken in the smaller bathroom and it was unusable, but still able to use both bathrooms.
