Lady Charlotte's Loft

The apartment is on the main street in the middle of Schull, convenient for all bars, shops, cafes and the harbour. It is beautifully furnished and fitted out and very comfortable overall. The heating, water and appliances are all state of the art and the decor was really nice. The beds were especially comfortable and the en suite bathrooms had powershowers with those overhead umbrella shower heads that give a really good shower. Our host was very welcoming and very helpful.

There is some street noise at night, especially from drinkers sitting outside late-night bars, but if the triple-glazed windows in the apartment are shut tight this reduces to a low muffle and is not a problem. All of the rooms have green fire-safety lights that cannot be turned off at night, which I have not encountered before in any rented accommodation or hotel room. They made it harder to get to sleep. Though the kitchen was well equipped overall, a few large soup/cereal bowls would have been welcome.

No meeting with host, only 2 tv channels , and no cleaning of rooms or change of linen for the 3 days we stayed.
