Lovely traditional property in a great location near to both beaches & Sintra. Lots of good walks nearby. Very helpful, responsive owner.

The roads are very bumpy - the hire car was fine but my 4WD would have been better! But that is part of the location.

Location it was in was very quiet and peaceful which made our stay very relaxing,property was very clean and had everything we needed,very good WiFi and pool was great.the host Susana was great and gave us information on some of the areas to visit which was really helpful,

House is well positioned for exploring the area, had a lot of space and privacy and a great garden and pool.

It clearly is a private home owned by a family. Somewhat dated. Could us some fresh furniture amd paintwork.

It is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The house is great. It has a large garden and offers a lot of peace and quiet. You can have a lovely breakfast on the terrace and watch the birds and squirrels. A lovely place to enjoy free time together with the family and spend the holidays. You can go on excellent walks in the surrounding area, for example to discover the beaches or sights. The children were in the pool every day. If we ever come back to Colares, we will definitely stay in this accommodation.

Great location for discovering Sintra -close to beaches, restaurants and sights. Fully equipped and comfortable house, set in the forest amongst large peaceful grounds, with a great pool -couldn't ask for more. Susana is a great host and couldn't be more helpful -tips for where to go and where to eat as well as always being available to answer questions.

Our host Susana was very efficient and welcoming. We arrived late in the evening but she was at the house to welcome us. Susana responded promptly to any questions about the house and also recommended local highlights and gave good local knowledge. Susana helped us plan our trip into Lisbon. The house itself was very peaceful and restful. There was plenty of space for our family of five with three teenagers. Everything was clean annd worked well. The bed linen and towels were refreshed after one week which was nice. The kitchen was easy to use for self-catering and had everything we needed including a larger fridge freezer. There was a very comfortable and large sitting area which we enjoyed using in the evenings. The dining area inside was lovely and the patio dining area was very pleasant. The two bathrooms were good, the shower worked well. We only used the bath once and it was fine. The house was very cool in the hot weather. We had bad weather at the start (rain and mist) but the house was very comfortable and spacious on the days we stayed home. The gardens were very peaceful, lovely trees and flowers. The pool was used every day and we enjoyed it very much. There is plenty of seating around the pool for relaxing and for keeping an eye on the swimmers. Locally there are several supermarkets a short drive away - all with very reasonable prices. We loved the cafe in Colares which was very cheap and delicious. We ate once at Praia Grande but it was costly for five of us to eat out. The house is twenty minutes drive from the town of Sintra which we visited three times. It is about 40 minutes drive from Lisbon. It was easy to reach driving in our hire car from the airport. We loved our time in this very peaceful comfortable house. If we can we will definitely try and return!

We had a little trouble with mosquitos in the evenings but I don’t think we can blame the house😊
