Very welcoming staff at Algartur and available to resolve any issues. The house was nicely equipped, with fresh sheets and towels and kitchenware. Really good location - less than 5min from the ferry to Tavira Island and the center.

Location

Very dark inside no usable outdoor area. Two building sites next door and across the road being worked on daily noise level dreadful. We were not made aware before booking that it was run by an agent with lots of rules and regulations including credit card security of 200 euro. We also were made aware of the cost of any breakedge per item not what you want to see on arrival. Attached photo of the area outside kitchen.

The accommodation was clean and quiet, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, and we rested well at night. It was central and parking was easy to find nearby.

After 5 nights in the accommodation, we can only say that we are very disappointed not only about the accommodation itself but also about the agency managing it (Algartur). Check-in process, to start with, has to be done online, requiring a tedious process of emails, webpages, etc. However, we did an additional check-in at the agency Algartur office. Unnecessary loss of time. We were also asked for a 200€ deposit during the online check-in process, which was not advertised in Booking. The accommodation was not worth 100€ per night at all. It was very dark (barely one window in the sitting room, and a small window in the bedroom towards a tiny patio). Also, it had a very strong smell to humidity (see picture attached). Because of its darkness and humidity, we named the accommodation “The Catacomb”. Cheapest IKEA lamps, cheap furniture and frames, ugly fake plastic flowers everywhere did not worth those 100€ per night. There were ants but the agency did not leave a spray to deal with them. Tiny bathroom, next to the kitchen, was not very private if you have to go to the toilet and someone is cooking. Only one rubbish bin which make impossible basic recycling. Nevertheless, the agency ridiculously charges you 20€ if you don’t take the rubbish out, 25€ if you don’t wash the dishes when you leave, among other issues.

Everything was fine

Wi-Fi connection was almost always good but sometimes a bit weak or disappearing for a few seconds.
