The village is very beautiful and the location is great, with lovely surroundings. The host kindly left a bottle of wine for us, which was a very nice gesture — thank you for that!

Unfortunately, there were several issues that affected our stay. All the dishes and cutlery were dirty — greasy, poorly washed, and with visible fingerprints. The dining table was extremely sticky and clearly hadn’t been cleaned properly. There were no kitchen towels, no soap, and no napkins or paper towels provided, which made basic cleaning and dining quite inconvenient. The Wi-Fi password sticker was unreadable and rubbed off, so we couldn’t use the internet during our stay. It was also very difficult to find the house, as there was no house number or name displayed on the door. We had to get neighbors for help. We were unexpectedly charged £50 for bringing a dog. We hadn’t noticed this beforehand, as we didn’t expect such a high fee, but the host later agreed to reduce it to £15. Additionally, we were suddenly told that we were expected to strip all the beds we had used and place the bedding in the bath — something we had never encountered before and found quite unusual. We were also told: "If any pet hairs are found on the furniture, you will lose your deposit." However, even though our dog doesn’t shed, we never received our deposit back. We honestly don’t understand what the dog fee is for if we’re still at risk of additional penalties afterward. We were not provided with logs for the fireplace. Since we returned late at night after a full day out, we didn’t call for them. Checkout was at 10:00am, but the cleaning staff started banging on the door at 10:05, which was quite stressful. We didn’t understand what was going on and had to pack in a rush. There were so many small issues that we didn’t even bother contacting the host to try to resolve them all, as it would have taken an entire day. We were also required to do a full inventory check upon arrival, with the warning that “if anything is broken or missing and not reported, you will be charged.” Just the kind of thing you want to do when you’re on holiday… full inventory check.

Nice cottage with a very pretty location.

Not much of a welcome pack just a bottle of wine and a sachet of popcorn which it seems had an extra charge attached to it 🤔.
