Pine & Apple Sintra Beach House

Great appartement, perfect location, close to ocean, Sintra mountain and infrastructure. Nice place, well renovated, with super helpful and kind staff.

We enjoyed the location very much. The house is very close to the village of Azenhas do Mar, which is beautiful and easy to get to. Parking on the street was easy, and access to the house was simple, which made arrival and departure very smooth. The house itself is small but functional, with two small bedrooms, including one with bunk beds, so it works well for a group of four. The host was also very communicative and the self-check-in process was easy, which we appreciated.

However, the house was uncomfortable during the winter. There is no central heating, which is common in Portugal, but the two small electric heaters provided were only sufficient for the bedrooms so the living room and kitchen, and the bathroom remained very cold. The house also felt humid, despite the dehumidifier. The bathroom in particular was uncomfortable, with visible moisture issues and wooden elements that were rotting and with visible mold. We were also disappointed with cleanliness. The bathroom soap was empty, and while the towels were obviously washed (and smelled clean), the bedding did not. We found some hair in one of the beds, which made us unsure whether the sheets had been changed. We cannot say this with certainty, but it didn't smell fresh, so it made us uncomfortable sleeping there. Overall, the house may be fine in warmer months, especially due to its nice location, but for a winter stay it was not comfortable for us, and we would not choose to stay here again.
