Casa do Tamariz, XIX century Beach House

Beautiful home with lots of amenities! Great host! Great area with access to the beach and central area to other cities. Isabel is a great host.

The location in Estoril is excellent - 100 metres from the train station and the main beach. The property is decorated to a high standard (as is slightly quirky). The main rooms are large and airy. There's also a conservatory plus a table and chairs to sit outside. The host is very helpful - she left us some Pastel de Nata from the local bakery which were delicious plus various items for our first breakfast (which meant not having to go out to a supermarket straightaway).

Small negatives. It would be nice to be able to use the garden, but I can understand why it's out of bounds for guests, plus the table and chairs outside are fine to use. Also, there can be noise (e.g. wedding receptions) from the castle next door at weekends, but it's not too bad (esp. with the windows shut).

The location of the property was terrific, right around the corner from the beach and the train.

There was loud music noise from a nearby party venue during several nights of our stay

Our five-night stay in Portugal at this charming house was nothing short of delightful. Everything we encountered matched the description precisely, from the cleanliness to the thoughtful amenities provided. The house was equipped with everything one might need during their stay, making it feel like a home away from home. The warm and inviting ambience of the place added to our comfort and relaxation. A special mention must be made of the lovely savory gifts that awaited us upon our arrival, a delightful touch that made us feel welcomed. Overall, our experience at this house in Portugal was exceptional, and I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable getaway.

The location is perfect, really close to the gorgeous sandy Tamariz beach and all its restaurants and cafes, and within strolling distance of Cascais, which we walked to along the seafront on a couple of evenings. The railway station is nearby so we could get to Lisbon easily for day-trips. There are nice grocery stores and delis not too far away. The house itself is spacious and comfortable, equipped with good wifi and full of thoughtful little touches: a bottle of wine milk, bread and other supplies to greet us on arrival; nice soap and plenty of loo roll in all three bathrooms; air-conditioning in all the rooms - which we did need since it was hot and humid on some days; lovely crisp bed linen; a well-equipped kitchen; dishwasher and washing machine - everything you might need to be comfortable.

There is a club nearby and there was some noise from that until the early hours on Thursday to Saturday, but earplugs dealt with that.
