Casa Palmas by Majikal B&B

Vi stannade i fyra nätter och blev kära i husets karaktär som var fantastisk. Uteköket och poolen var väldigt trevligt. Det var stort. Vi stormtrivdes. Lätt att kommunicera med ägarna. Kan verkligen rekommenderaa!

In het huis is een patio aanwezig met klein vijvertje. Dit is een leuk extraatje, maar omdat het niet afsluitbaar is komt alle warmte (en muggen) langs daar naar binnen. Het was altijd te warm in de woonkamer (geen airco, wel in de slaapkamers) We misten de mogelijkheid om bij het zwembad in de zon te liggen (buiten op de rand van het zwembad), geen ligbedjes of dergelijke.

Super comfortable and beautifully decorated. It had everything we could need.

The garden was a bit overgrown or in need of a little bit of maintenance trimming.

We stayed at 2 Mexican homes during our time in the Yucatan and this was easily our favorite. It is a traditional Mexican home with a beautiful garden. It has lovely rustic finishes and is very tastefully decorated with antiques and unique artwork. It is a 15 minute walk to most nearby Mérida attractions. The owners/manager were very responsive (even during evening hours). There is a small fish pond in the center of the house! We passed an entire day at this home waiting out Tropical Storm Beryl and it was surprisingly relaxing (reading and watching/listening to the rain). The house is solid… we barely felt the wind at all and the WiFi and power remained functional despite the weather.

Just a heads up that the 2nd bedroom is completely separate from the rest of the residence (accessible by a private walkway and a flight of stairs outside). This was not an issue for us because our kids are teenagers… but an important point to consider for families with younger children. As with most Mexican houses, only the bedrooms are air conditioned. The fact that most living spaces aren’t air conditioned is something we got used to during our trip to the Yucatan. The main issue we had was with the ceiling fan in the salon/living room. It really didn’t help move air or provide any relief from the heat. Fortunately, the owners brought us an extra fan so we could sit in that room without sweating or swatting mosquitoes. It would have been nice to have access to a stand water dispenser and even nicer to have bottled water provided/included. We would have gladly paid a few extra dollars not to have to worry about sourcing bottled water (especially during the hurricane watch). Of the 5 places we stayed (2 apartments, 1 hotel, and 2 homes), this was the only place we stayed that did not provide bottled water.

Great location. Comfortable little house with small pool and a terrace.

It’s a B&B but they don’t serve breakfast. Decoration is a bit excessive for my taste.

All was good

Think drinking water should be supplied.

Good place near to the center. Very nicely furnished and equiped. We stayed just two nights, but it was the best place on our jurney.

The swimmimg pool could be cleaner, but that”s it.
