Tequila Sunrise Cottage at Karoofontein Guest Farm

The location of the cottage on a large farm in a narrow valley, a few kms from the main farmhouse, was just what we wanted. Isolation, peace and beauty. It felt like we were staying in someone's home. We loved the large, covered patio and garden, and the walks one can do from the cottage, and due to recent rains in Feb and Mar, the green veld. The view of the mountains was magnificent. We were met by Nita and the 11 friendly dogs and taken to the cottage. Wifi enabled us to connect with her if needed, and with the outside world. An absolutely wonderful place to stay.

Due to the design of the old building, you have to go outside to get into the bathroom, albeit under cover of the patio, and right next to the front door. It's just that on freezing winter nights it's not that pleasant. But not a "deal breaker" in any way. The bathroom is nice and large and hot water is instantly available.

Wonderful landscape and scenery welcomed by the most friendly horses. Fantastically equipped kitchen and homey feel to the cottage.

Most peaceful and beautiful place to totally switch off in absolute comfort.

Everything about this place is amazing! The view is like no other I have experienced and the quiet serenity makes this place worthwhile to break away to. The accommodation is superb and the smallest of things were thought of (sunblock, allergy meds, a first aid kit, peaceful sleep, swimming towels, board games, firelighters, wood, more than one very clean braai grids etc)

Both the place and the owners were gems. l would recommend this cottage/stay to anyone who loves nature, peace and quiet.

A little bit out of the way but worth it.
