Lake District romantic get away in 1 acre gardens off M6

It was clean and tidy. The host was very accommodating.

Grounds, garden and bed comfortable. Shower and bath would have been amazing if they worked and were hot.

On arrival we used the code to unlock the keys from the box to find the accommodation had no bedding, a pile or dust on the floor and cleaning appliances all over baring in mind it was 5pm and check in was allowed from 2.30pm. When ringing the number provided a lady came out of the cottage next door and advised there’s a mix up and we will now be staying in Lune cottage which we did not book. To avoid hassle we agreed to stay in here and asked if this was the exact same which we were advised it was. During our stay we had to ring owners 4 times which is not ideal when trying to enjoy a stay away. First call was due to us noticing the ‘spa bath’ that is advertised had no bath plug. When we rang we were advised there was one at the owners house which they would drop off for us. When they arrived we were advised the spa bath does not work yet this is NOT advertised when booking and this was one of the main reasons we booked this accommodation. We then tried to bath our baby son and when running the bath we noticed the bath was only running cold water. We rang again to be advised the lady would come out and check this we were then told that we would have to wait 25-30 minutes for hot water. We did this and when we tried again the shower was luke warm and bath far too cold for our son. So during our stay we had to have a cold shower for hygiene purposes. We were only given the WiFi code for Eden cottage and not the one we got put into along with the next day the water only rang lukewarm water yet we had gave it 13 hours to reset. Very upset with this stay and should not have had to ring the owners 4 times over. Most disappointing part was being advised after checking in the spa bath didn’t even work yet it fully advertised that this is the main selling point.

Very spacious accommodation and in quite a good location for access of the Lakes and Dales. Couldn’t hear the road too much to our suprise. Very comfy beds

Parts were quite unclean. Lots of cobwebs, towels and bedding did have a few stains. The decking area would benefit from a make over as the boards have broken. oven and extractor can’t be used together and kept tripping the electric meaning the burglar alarm kept beeping until we figured how to reset it. On the way we asked if we could drop our bags before the check in time around 12.30pm. We were advised this was possible and when we arrived we were told they hadn’t had the keys back so we couldn’t.

The property is a nice, cosy cottage style bungalow with a lovely kitchen, comfy beds / bedding and a nice bathroom with a jacuzzi bath plus another lovely shower room suitable for guests with additional needs. You could tell the property had been cleaned properly (apart from the oven) with fresh bedding and towels etc. We appreciated the free tea, coffee sachets and jams plus the chocolates on the pillows are a nice touch and the hand / body wash smelt lovely. Great little pub nearby called the Cross Keys Inn - did a fab pizza.

The property was cold. Heated flooring seemed to work in the hall and one of the bedrooms but the living room and main bedroom were really chilly. I’ve also seen this on other reviews so perhaps a small portable heater that guests can choose to use may be helpful. On closer inspection of the property it just needs a few touch ups from wear and tear in certain places e.g. bits of wallpaper had been pulled off the wall in the living room and the coffee table had big marks on it in the marble. These are quick fixes which will make a big difference! By no fault of the owners, an alarm was going off in the property during the night. We rang the owners but appreciate they didn’t answer due to the late time however they then didn’t get in touch the following morning even though we’d left messages. For all they knew, the alarm could have been going off all night? Luckily we rang the company number on the alarm box and they told us how to silence the alarm but it did disrupt all of our sleep which was a shame. The inside of the oven and oven trays were really unclean but everything else seemed very clean.

Unfortunately we were disappointed as it was really very dirty. We don't normally write reviews but really found it all quite uncomfortable. The front bedroom cupboard smelt bad, back bedroom has mould on the walls and thick layer of dust on the floors (made it hard to breath thick ), the pots and pans had not been washed, floors and surfaces were grimey, hair all over the bathroom and some also in the kitchen, the towels were stained. Previous reviews say the place is clean, maybe they changed cleaner? Either way, it made the stay unpleasant for us and the hosts need a new cleaner. They also did not respond when we contacted them.

Location, easy to find, beautiful views. Comfortable, cosy, loved the bed so luxurious.

Was very cold and could not turn heating up. WiFi was not working as well as the jacuzzi if all these things were available would of been perfect birthday trip. Unfortunately we didn't hear back from the owners either.

The beds were comfy and the bath however the bath was left with loads of bits in and when I went to have a bath at night the hot water wasn’t working until the morning don’t know if it’s on a timer.

How it was right next to the end of the motorway and right infront of cattlegrids so everytime a car went past we heard it.
