Lake District romantic get away in 1 acre gardens off M6

We liked the location of the property and the level of comfort in the lounge and bedroom. The master bedroom with ensuite was very nice. Access to the property was straightforward and the parking directly outside the door was really useful. Check in was easy and the location was very convenient for the motorway and getting into the Lake District.

We were expecting a high standard from this 5 star rated property but sadly we were a little disappointed. It seemed a little shoddy, perhaps tired at the end of the season. It is clearly a very nice place, nicely built with interesting features but needs a little attention. The wall paper above the dining table was damaged as was the surface of the coffee table in the lounge. The wallpaper was lifting all along the seams on the wall behind the bed in the main bedroom and there were broken door handles and toilet roll holder. All minor things perhaps but overall does not give an excellent impression. There were no instructions at all on how to use anything in the cottage including the heating. Also the wet room smelt really strongly of bleach when we arrived and the ensuite smelt damp, like wet plaster which was not very pleasant. Overall we actually enjoyed our stay but were expecting better.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was perfect, with the Lakes on your doorstep to the west (30mins by car to Windermere) and the Yorkshire Dales to the east. The property has everything you might need and feels quite cozy. It is also quite spacious and comfortable. There was some noise from the main road but that didn’t bother us at all. The farm shop at Tebay services is perfect for groceries. The hosts were also very kind - they arranged for us to stay another night due to a storm which prevented us from moving on with our trip.

The towels were dirty - that was quite unpleasant.

The balcony, the view was beautiful. It was clean and well maintained. The bathrooms were spacious. It was a well equipped apartment with everything you might need. The owners were responsive, friendly and helpful.

Our whole family loved staying here. Very clean and beautiful rooms. Our children made lovely friends with a number of our families that were our neighbours. We would definitely stay again and recommend.

Location was very good for us, house clean and comfortable and communication before we got there was excellent. Would highly recommend property.

Only thing if it had it is own garden although they have a sheared place with other chalets
