Briarwood House

We had a wonderful stay at Briarwood House Keswick as a group of 8 adults. The house was spacious, spotlessly clean, and really well equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Having en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom was a real bonus, and there was plenty of room for everyone to relax together, with lots of seating around both the dining table and in the lounge. The location was ideal, just a short walk into Keswick town centre, where we enjoyed the pubs, restaurants, and beautiful lake walks. The house also had a great selection of takeaway menus and local information, which made planning meals and outings really easy. Couldn’t recommend more highly!

Very spacious house. Location was perfect for access to centre of Keswick. Private parking was great. Very well equipped kitchen. Washer and dryer in utility room. Lots of sofas and social space. The many bathrooms made a stay for a group of 10 very easy. Lovely pub two minutes away.

Beds/mattresses could do with updating/improving in some rooms. Some road noise in front bedrooms.

Excellent location, Fritz Park is literally over the road and it's a 10 minute walk to Keswick town center. Didn't use the cars all week. Easy access to Catbells and other walks around Keswick. We were a group of 6 adults and 4 kids, the house was perfect.

Perfect size of house for our family and the location was ideal. Situated right across the road from a big park which was great for the children. Lovely big dining table for breakfast with the whole family. 5 good sized rooms and 5 toilets/shower rooms which meant everyone could get ready at the same time. Added benefit of having an electric charger for my son's car. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Few small points such as handle on the small downstairs toilet door is peeling and had rough edges which I scratched my hand on. (Handle is old and just needs replaced) Shower in small double bedroom needs a deeper clean, there was a fair amount of residue trapped inside the metal cord leading from the shower ro the shower head. I spent a good 10 minutes rinsing most of it off before I could shower but it does need a good scrub. Overall though the house was just what we wanted.

Fantastic location for Keswick ( easily accessed by a short walk along the river) and getting an early start on the fells.

Well equipped house on the outskirts of Keswick. Ideal for a large group requiring five bedrooms. The walk into Keswick can be done along the banks of the attractive river.

The road outside the property is busy and has no proper footpath for most of the way to the town.

Excellent house with plenty of space, great kitchen and dining facilities, clean bedrooms with nice en-suites, and plenty of parking space for 4 large cars/vans.

The door handles/locks are in poor condition, sometimes it was quite difficult to lock/unlock, and to be sure that the door was properly secured upon leaving.

The ground floor bedroom and ensuite gave good access for elderly parents, and there was one entrance door with no steps. All the rooms were a good size and comfortable, and clean. Good size lounge and dining area. Well equipped kitchen. Washer and drying space was handy with the weather. Good parking space. Good location within 10-15 minutes walking distance of the centre of Keswick, and max 2 minutes to a nice pub.

No complaints. It took us a little while to work out the heating system, instructions could maybe have been a bit clearer, but we did it once we spotted the right things on the right walls. Maybe a bit clearer info about bins/recycling too? Things like books and games were a bit conspicuous by their absence - maybe we are too old school, or maybe this is the post covid era. We had brought our own anyway :)

The house was fantastic. Plenty of space for a group of 9 adults. Each bedroom having its own bathroom is a huge plus. There was enough seating Roy d the dining table and also in the living room. Was close enough to town to be able to walk to all restaurants, pubs and the lake. Great selection of takeaway menus in the house to give us a good idea where to go.
