Holiday Home In Cardiff, Sleeps 8

Our two-night stay at the Holiday Home in Cardiff for New Year's Eve was overall enjoyable. The house comfortably accommodated six of us and had a convenient location near major shops such as Asda, Lidl, Costco, and the football stadium. The gated neighbourhood provided a sense of security, and ample parking was appreciated. Despite the rainy weather, the tiny garden was a non-issue. Unfortunately, the lack of good visibility hindered our ability to enjoy the city's fireworks.

On a more critical note, noticeable touch-ups, scratches, dust, and some signs of mould in various places detracted from the overall experience. Improved maintenance would certainly enhance the property.

The house was lovely and warm on arrival. Looked pretty clean, not spotless but clean. Good sized front room and a good sized kitchen diner. The bedrooms were two single sized and two double sized, one with an ensuite. The house was airy and bright and the beds were comfortable. There was a sofa bed in the front room but we did not use it. The kitchen diner was a good size with a large table big enough for the 5 of us. There was a small garden out the back that looked nice but we didn't use as the weather was awful. The front of the house had a garage which we were not sure if we could use but were able to park two cars on the drive. The area was really quiet and the bus stop to the city was just a few minutes up the road. There was plenty of shops just a few minutes drive away and of course there was the stadium which was closed whilst we were there. All in all not a bad stay.

Firstly the listing said free toiletries, hand soap and toilet roll were the only thing free with no other toiletries. We had to take and buy crockery as there were basic thing's missing like baking tray's to cook on, a Colander, a jug, a grater, scissors and drying cloths. The wall shelf in the kitchen was leaning forward so did not use, the fridge door seal was hanging off and the dishwasher wouldn't drain. ( I have already mentioned these on check out) There was no mop bucket for the kitchen so cleaned up with wipes, also no hoover so couldn't clean after us. The light's in the front room were constantly flickering as if there was a fault with them. There were no floor mats for the bathroom and my Daughter slipped and hurt her arm. More blinds would be good in the bedrooms, the bathroom and the toilet. The wardrobe door slammed shut every time you opened it. We did not like the notice about noise and starting fires in the house, we found it opressive.

Great location, kitchen dining space was good for social gathering

Needed a bit of TLC in places but still a fab property and would stay again

The property was in an ideal location, a nice quiet area just a short car journey into the city centre. The owner was very helpful in answering any questions we had before arrival. Extra chair was provided for us by the owner with no trouble as the dining table did not seat enough people for our family. The property is very spacious and we enjoyed our stay. The upstairs beds are lovely and comfortable and have good bedding.

The sofa bed is definitely not up to scratch, the bars are bent in many places meaning the bed is not flat in any kind of way and we ended up sleeping on the floor for the second night as we just could not sleep on the sofa bed at all.

The uncleanliness of the property:- Filthy windows,fridge door seal loose allowing condensation.Freezer drawers iced up.Cooker unclean.Toaster full of crumbs.Shower cubicle tiles in en-suite mouldy.Family bath plug full of hair and not draining.Insufficient cutlery for seven people. Dust and cobwebs on ceilings and dining chairs.The list is endless and we paid £100 included in total price.We discourage anyone considering hiring this house.

The house was comfortable and spacious with enough rooms for the 4 of us. We knew we would need a taxi into Cardiff central area as the house is built on the site of the old football club.

We were warned not to do all sorts of things by the property owner - see the photo with lots of exclamation marks. We were a group of ladies who were more interested in having a meal out and the theatre than partying. However, this was not the case for the house across the road who were partying in the street until 6am. I trust we will not get the blame for this.
