Gomes Freire Terrace

The terrace was fantastic and so close to the beach and restaurants.

The streets are a bit confusing but the property was great.

the location couldn't have been any better - really near the sea but nestled in a central and quiet neighbourhood. House was well laid out and very comfortable for adult friends (particularly having three bathrooms)

whilst the house was well laid out, the quality of some of the supplies was really poor. Towels that you could spit through, really cheap toilet paper and one tablet for the washing machine and dishwater. If you are staying a long weekend it means having to buy large boxes of tablets that you can't take home. However the real issue i had is that in changing the number of nights from 6 to 5 well in advance of our trip (and increasing the number of guests staying which really should have resulted in a small increase in cleaning), the owner increased the costs by more than 25% for a shorter stay. When i queried this with Booking.com they said that any change at all to the booking allows the owner to change prices. That may be the case but a 25% increase in costs for a shorter stay is very unfair!!

The apartment smelt damp. and it coukd do with a deep clean and the windows cleaning! To be fair it was very humid and didn’t know if this was the reason. we would come back again though
