Classical Lockwood house nearby the stream

The place could have been a more cleaner. We had to go and buy products to clean the kitchen to make it useful for us to use. There is a lot of spiderwebs in the house inside and outside. There was bedding in the garage and we could smell that on the towels and bedding that was on the bed. Smells moldy. They could have at least give the house a nice clean feeling when guests arrive.

Might be good to refresh the pots and pans. I think the word classic is aligned to original state. But I also think very reasonably priced.

Lounge is very spacious with plenty of room for the family, and the downstairs snooker room kept the family entertained. A nice walk around the stream and down to the lake was very relaxing and gorgeous. The beds and dining table are just beautiful solid woodwork you just don't see often and were very lovely to see.. Being able to open the lounge up to the deck was really nice.. again, just opening up more space is great. The view of the stream and watching the odd person's come down to fish was awesome entertainment.

The front entrance needs tidying up. When we pulled up, I thought I must have the wrong address as it certainly doesn't look like the photos or that it is at all maintained for these purposes..looked unloved and abandoned.. On entrance, the home smelled bad, like very damp, and hadn't been aired for a long time.. It looked like a new lino floor has just been put in and looks good but very sticky.. In the kitchen, the cutlery was short with only 1 fork and no teaspoons, well apart from plastic baby spoons. the coffee was old and had gone hard, The non stick frying pan was so scratched, probably because there were no non-stick utensils to be used, and very little options of other useable pots..so they really lacked in the kitchen, that we had to spend a little bit more so we'd have what we needed. In the rooms, there were lots of spider webbs n even spiders on the spare pillows in the 2nd room wardrobe.. we found 1 pillow case 1 blanket and 1 sheet all what looked like blood on them.. The beds, as gorgeous as they are, they were very hard and uncomfortable to sleep on.. we all came away tired and with sore backs, and the king bed was very creaky too just like the home itself..the floors and walls creaking and crackling all day and night..so not for the lite sleepers.. There were really many little things that could make a really good difference to improve the quality of the stays, but overall, the home is in need of good love and attention and a good clean all around.. For the amount charged, I'd think this home to be up to standard, but no. I actually feel ripped off and sad for the home not being kept well..
