Macadamia Retreat - City Central Hygge

Large 4 bedroom house. Plenty of parking for 2 cars. Bedrooms a good size. Kids loved the Fooz Ball.

Not enough lounge room seating. Only 1 tv. Very steep stairs to upper bedroom. Renovations very mish-mash.

The size of the house & bedrooms were awesome & the beds were very comfortable. The lounge & outdoor deck area were great for relaxing. Location is in a nice & quiet neighbourhood.

The sink in the toilet was blocked & the outdoor umbrella needed replacing - has holes in it & didn’t work properly. The outside of the house needed cleaning/water blasting & the windows in some of the bedrooms were locked shut, preventing ventilation on a hot night. There was no milk for the tea & coffee station & very minimal plates, cutlery & cups to use.

A lovely house not too far from the city centre and amenities (supermarkets etc). We weren’t intending to stay around the house for the weekend, but it was a great base from which to head out for our planned activities. The seated area on the back deck was a lovely place to sit and chat in the sunshine.

The flowing hand soap dispensers were filled with water… or the soap was so diluted that it was practically water. This was the case in both bathrooms. We were unable to open any doors except the entrance during our stay which was unfortunate as it was lovely warm weather. A nice touch would be to include some games. One of the reviews said these were available, however, there were none there during our stay.

It had great space and good sized rooms. Was clean and tidy with good facilities such as a dishwasher, table football and Netflix.

All the doors and windows down the hall to and in the lower double room were locked. Owners said this was for security reasons even though the windows for the adjacent rooms were not. This is dangerous, as if there was a fire in the house and the rear exit to building was compromised the inky way to get would be to squeeze out a window. Not ideal.
