The Rockhouse - Cosy stone built Thatch Cottage

We had the most wonderful few days at The Rockhouse. While we were blessed with the weather in Donegal that week, it would not have mattered in terms of our experience here. The outside grounds are a wonder! Yvonne and Michael have landscaped outside beautifully and it was joy. The house is wonderfully equipped to live in with Dungloe only a few km drive for shopping, pub grub etc.

We had such a Cosy & peaceful stay at the Rockhouse. The Hosts Yvonne & Michael were on hand if we needed them. Pictures don’t do the Cottage justice, it’s gorgeous inside. Grounds are also stunning with a stream running alongside the cottage, a perfect country escape.

Fabulous stay, brilliant location, but a car is definitely needed. There is an e-car charging point at the property. The owners have done amazing work restoring and enhancing the property including creating a sustainable heat source with the pump and the insulation. We really appreciated the local wildlife, including a couple of visiting pheasants, the wood fire and provided logs and the in-house library. We even saw the northern lights, with the host messaging us to let us know to look for them. Such a magical, special place, can't wait to return.

Beautiful cottage in a lovely, quiet location. Friendly and helpful host.

Beautiful and relaxing house in a tranquil setting. A couple of minutes drive to fantastic beaches and walks, as well as being a short distance from the supermarket. The house itself has everything you need. Just all round a great place to relax. We'll be back.

The cottage is a fabulous place to stay. I fully recommend it.

The location was excellent for a peaceful break. Quiet cosy cottage . The stars in the sky at night was like a picture . The hosts were very friendly and helpful on places to go and sights to see . Beautiful county
