Rocky Mountain Way - Off The Cretan Track

Rocky Mountain Way was an amazing place to stay, spacious for our family and with a stunning view south across the sea. The gardens were a safe place for our children to play and the hosts next door were very welcoming and happy to help anytime we needed, giving some great recommendations of places to go. Having to rely on solar power gave us a real sense of working with the daily rhythm and local way of living.

The track from the road was rough and quite steep so not really suitable to bring a car down. No great hardship though and allowed us to take in the scenery and enjoy the wildlife and fragrant plants.

We had an amazing stay, everything exceeded our expectations. The house is tastefully designed and decorated, the location is superb, quiet and peaceful with amazing views. Even though we visited in hot July, the house was cool and pleasant as it is well insulated and maintained. David was so nice, open hearted and welcoming, glad to share his knowledge of the island. Highly recommended.

David was a lovely, engaging host with a thorough knowledge of the island and happy to offer tips and advice. The house - which he built himself - it is in on a wide plateau that tumbles towards the sea. Inside it is well arranged and has everything you need. Selia, the nearest village, has a handful of good restaurants.

What an amazing place, what an amazing location! The view, the peace and quiet, the nature, the silence, the surroundings (nature, beaches, supermarkets,...) , it was even better than anticipated! What you see is what you get, honest and sober, slow living is a must at the south coast of Crete and definitely at this beautiful house. I couldn't recommend it more, David was so nice and thanks to him we discovered all the pearls in the surroundings. The house has literaly anything you need: from blankets to towels, herbs, beach material, even toothpaste if you would require, ... We hope to go back someday!!

very friendly and nice hosts. a very nice disigned house. there was even a guitar and david put new strings on it. just brilliant. 2 cute dogs, very sweet with good behavior. everything just perfect.
