"Charge a cleaning fee, yet demand you do all the cleaning."

Not applicable because we ended up just going to a hotel instead. Read further to know why.

They charged $105 for cleaning fee!!! Yet several days after the reservation, but just two days before we were scheduled to arrive, they sent the following message: "We hope you are enjoying your stay. In preparation for your departure tomorrow, we've included the check-out instructions below: • Pull all linen off of used beds and place in laundry baskets or floor • Place all used towels & wash clothes in laundry baskets or floor • Empty all trash cans & take garbage to garbage bin located outside • Empty refrigerator of all personal items. • Wash or place all dirty dishes in the dishwasher and turn on (detergent is under the sink) • Close all downstairs blinds •Turn off all lights • Set both thermostats to 78 degrees in the summer and 63 degrees in the winter • Ensure that all doors are locked. Thanks" Seemed ridiculous to us to have to pay $105 and yet do all of things, none of which are required at any hotel. Stay away from this place. You'd be better off in a hotel. Also, even though we requested to cancel the reservation as soon as we read that message (2 days before the reservation was shceduled to begin), the hosts and Booking.com refused to issue a full refund. After this experience, we will not be using booking.com ever again.
