Belle terrasse.

Accès difficile. Les voisins sont sympathiques mais possèdent de nombreux chiens qui vivent dans le jardin devant la maison et aboient la nuit. Équipement très limité de la cuisine.

Le logement est magnifiquement bien situé, avec accès direct et privé à la lagune. Il y a des chaises longues, des hamacs, de quoi profiter de cette tranquillité et de la vue qui est sublime. La maison est parfaite, simple, les lits confortables. L'accès à une cuisine est très apprécié. Il faut réaliser que l'autre petite maison qui apparait sur les photos est habitée par une famille mexicaine (ce sont eux qui nous ont donné les clés de la maison principale). Ils sont très gentils, très discrets et peuvent aider au besoin. Il faut une voiture pour aller en ville qui est à 7-8 minutes. La propriétaire nous a toujours répondu très rapidement (via Whatsapp). Un endroit parfait pour profiter de Bacalar !

Absolutely beautiful views & easy check in, loved the location. Enjoyed a lot of time on the dock or in the hammocks.

Wifi was unreliable. The home is aging with areas of the dock & stairs crumbling.

La ubicación junto al lago Bacalar es estupenda. La vista insuperable. Aunque rústico, si tiene todos los servicios básicos excepto internet y TV. Esto contradice el anuncio. Las personas encargadas de darnos las llaves y comunicación con la anfitriona fueron amables y siempre tratando de ayudar.

Aunque había instalado (modem) internet, éste nunca funcionó en la práctica. La anfitriona se comunicó varias veces con el proveedor de este servicio, pero todo acabó en promesas y en la práctica nunca funcionó sino muy esporádicamente. Esto nos afectó pues requeríamos usarlo extensamente. La casa vecina muy cercana tenía gallinas y gallos, que por naturaleza, despertaban con su canto al amanecer. El acceso al lugar es a través de un camino rústico (aprox. 400m) no cómodo de seguir, especialmente si ha llovido. Es indispensable llegar al sitio en automóvil.

The quiet, secluded location about an 8 minute drive from the Bacalar center is absolutely worth the trip and the last few metres on the bumpy dirt road. The sunrises were just amazing and the direct entry to the lagoon fantastic for swimming and relaxing. We also loved the spacious outdoor area with the hammocks and sitting options. Furthermore, the owner as well as the family next to us were extremely welcoming and kind. And we slept like babies - the quality of the mattress is very good! There was a free parking spot for our rental car.

The place hasn't been much cared for in the past years so it looks quite different than on the pictures. The equipment of the kitchen is not the best, but you have all the basics. The stairs down to the water are slippery after the rain, but the owner left a warning about that, so if you go down carefully, you will be fine. The furniture is still functional, but partly damaged, which shouldn't stop you from booking it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. These are just things you should be aware of so you won't be disappointed.

The location and outside of the property are phenomenal. Having your own private dock with sun loungers feels like such a privilege, and the terrace with hammocks is gorgeous too, as is the view. It was also nice to be outside the town centre - much quieter and more restful. Others have mentioned the bumpy road to the house. We found this okay if you take it slowly. It's a very short stretch of potholes.

Sadly, the interior of the house doesn't match the fantastic quality of the exterior space. The kitchen wasn't cleaned properly (crumbs in microwave, muck on hob handles, food residue on bowls, limescale on sink, etc.) and some of the fixtures and fittings need repairing or replacing (several cupboard doors don't shut, pan handles are loose, cooker is rusty, etc.). There was no overhead fan in the bedroom or bedside reading lamps. The one "lamp" provided was a strange camping lamp with no stand, powered by a short USB lead that was broken. Also, while we were staying, there were frequent issues with the water. At least daily I had to contact the host because there wasn't any hot water, and twice there wasn't any water at all - hot or cold. Each time, the problem was sorted quickly. But it would be much better if the water just functioned normally, without the need for multiple messages.

Location was amazing. House was great. Host was friendly. Grateful to have beach towels provided. Bacalar Lagoon is SPECTACULAR!
