"Very comfortable getaway."

8.0

We started coming here in 2001 with Mum and Dad, when it was under the Duke of Northumberland, we've not been since 2014 so thought it was about time we had a mini break over New Year. Booked well over a year ago. Not stayed in the smaller property before, always stayed in the 3 bedroom one so wasn't sure what to expect. We did end up booking an extra night, so 5 nights in total. The quality is great however. The welcome pack was unexpected but very lovely. All the bits I'd forgotten to bring were already here like dishwasher tablets, hand soap, washing up liquid. There's a washer and a dryer too. And a Christmas tree!!! Although the bed was a little harder than I was expecting, it was nice to have so much room. 2 beds attached together. 4 of everything, 4 cups, 4 glasses and so on. Coffee maker, microwave, toaster, oven etc. The light over the hob didn't work and the lighting was OK but a bit dark. Bathroom is a good size with walk in shower, but no where to put your things ie shelf near sink. Towels also provided but I brought some anyway. Hairdryer provided but I also brought my own too. The only down side was it was very cold, despite central heating, it never seemed to get warm and we couldn't get the fire to work. Luckily I brought a big blanket with us. Next time I'll bring a hot water bottle too. We've been coming here for such a long time, I just find it a really nice comforting place to stay.. you do need a car however as there's no local shops, but there is a pub about 2 mins walk. There is a spa etc on site, think it's been here about 10 years now, we've not used it but it looks popular. Allocated parking spaces too. Situated a few miles off A1, handy for Seahouses and Bamburgh, and about 20mins north of Alnwick. Already planning our next trip, if you're lucky you may also catch an aurora as the skies are crystal clear

It was a bit cold, even turning temp up didn't seem to work. A footstool would be a great addition.

"It was perfect next time we will stay longer."

10.0

The property was well equipped had everything you needed including a washing machine and tumble drier. It was so clean and comfortable, they even left a goodie box for the dog and a lovely bottle of white wine for us those little touches go a long way, We will definitely go back but for a longer visit it was so nice and peaceful.

The property was furnished to a very high standard and was so clean. The bed was so comfortable with crisp white covers and sheets, the towels and tea towels were also provided, along with a some dishwasher tablets and washing up detergent, you don’t need to take anything it’s all provided for you.

"Excellent base for exploring Northumberland."

Clean and comfortable accommodation situated in quiet village. Dog friendly. Close to A1 and short distance from Bamborough. Convenient for Alnwick, Holy Island and Seahouses, and base for exploring.

Limited recycling options. Otherwise all great.

"Brilliant little cottage, close to the coastline and such a good price. Will definitely book again."

10.0

Loved how spacious it was and the fully equipped kitchen, the bottle of wine and dog treats and towel was a lovely touch and the outside area is perfect for letting them out.

Not sure if it was because we were the middle cottage but every time one of the other cottages used water, the pipe was very loud for us. On our first night it was on and off about 11/11:30pm for a while so was a little frustrating but not the end of the world.

"Village consisted mainly of holiday accommodation."

9.0

Clean and comfortable, everything necessary was provided.

I hadn't realised that most of Lucker consists of holiday accommodation. Accommodation was very good, but with little character; wasn't quite what i'd expected.
