Heart of Raleigh

The location was central to everything we wanted. The neighborhood was quiet and seemed to be OK (more about that below.) The owner was very polite and professional and seemed willing to please. The owner reached out when it seemed we were having trouble with the keylock. The house was clean and had games available to play.

The door was a little rickety with sunlight pouring in around the edge. The mechanical keyless electronic lock was the one and only lock on the door. I would have liked another internal keyless lock to engage when we were in the home to prevent any entry from outside parties. It also seemed like a good strong kick to the door would allow entry. The neighbor across the street always seemed to be out on her front stoop watching the rental property a lot without a friendly vibe. I didn't mention the neighbor to my daughter but she brought it up to me how the neighbor always seemed to be "lurking" which gave insecure vibes. There was a ring door bell which seemed a little invasive of privacy. The owner reached out and asked about the door keypad and if we were having trouble. It was nice that he was being proactive about the battery running low on the keypad but at the same time, it kind of set off vibes of being watched. Maybe a corner camera on the outside of the home would be less invasive than having the ring camera in your face every time you enter the property. We come to Raleigh every summer, if the door was more secure and a secondary internal lock was on the door we would definitely consider this property every time. My 14-year old daughter just found it hard to be at ease when sleeping. I will invest in a portable Addalock lock sold on Amazon for future such cases to allow her to sleep peacefully.

My son was thrilled that there was a magnetic dart board and skee-ball set. This apartment was the only place I could find with two king size beds. The beds were very comfortable and the a/c worked well. The property manager was easy to reach and remained in contact throughout our stay; he was distinctly considerate. Overall, this apartment beats all others in value and convenience of stay.

There weren't handtowels in the bathrooms or kitchen so we had to use a lot of paper towels. The painter's tape on the cabinets was a bit strange.
