"This is the second time we have stayed here and we shall be very happy to come back again."

Shop around the corner and cafe bars also. Private garden for relaxing and catching the sun. Easy reach of a few large towns for a good value lunch (menu del dia).

It had been very dry in Portugal therefore there was a slight smell from the drains in the bathroom.The host is taking steps to prevent this happening in the future.

"Exactly what we were looking for in a place to stay with a friendly, helpful host, Sofia."

Good location for visiting inland Portugal. Ervidel has several bars/cafes, one of which served reasonably priced food/ menu of the day. There is a pharmacy and a shop metres from the property. The sun shone every day into the rear garden. There is an open fireplace and a good supply of dry firewood which we certainly needed as the weather turned very cold at night. Everything that you could need such as ironing board, toaster, coffee machine, 2 electric heaters etc was at the property. TV had a variety of programmes including Sky News. Very quiet location, near to a large lake and the city of Beja.

Though bright and sunny (16C) during day, the weather turned unseasonably cold (0C) at night during our stay at the end of Feb/beginning of March. Being a traditional Portuguese rural house it is not centrally heated and it was difficult to stay warm at night. Off course the weather is not the fault of the host and it is usually 6-8C at this time of the year. The 2 electric heaters and the open fire helped.
