Fisherman's Hut

Fabulous location and so peaceful and quiet. Ideal place to get away from it all, and good base in central location for exploring Lewis and Harris. Had everything we needed for self catering.

Fire alarm went off every time we cooked!

The location is stunning. Beautiful tidal loch. Easy to get there. Host very helpful. The accommodation is very very compact but well laid out. All necessary equipment.

The Hut is very very small, no room for a suitcase unless it’s under the bed. Probably ok for a young fit couple but at 80 difficult to get up and down all the time for things. No where else for storage as it so small. In bad weather there is no where to sit. A small sun lounge to the front would transform the place.

the hut is very well appointed with everything you might need and more, it is spotlessly clean. We came in late October and we're very warm and snug despite arriving during Storm Ashley.

It is worth bearing in mind that this is a gloriously remote, quiet getaway. We saw no pubs at all on Harris, most amenities close in September so do plan ahead and be prepared to travel if you fancy some fish and chips.

Amazing view and incredible location. Wonderfully designed accommodation. Peaceful and tranquil . Great local hikes and a short drive into Tarbert

Lack of washing machine

It is very well presented and equipped. Clever use has been made of the space. All the equipment and materials are good quality, and a lot of thought and care has clearly been put into the property. The location is great, with lovely views.

The bathroom was a little too compact. Other than that no complaints.

Hand on heart the cosiest place we ever stayed in. A wee home away form home! Peaceful location right by the loch and the hut, despite being small, has everything you need for a relaxed stay. One thing is for sure: A car is needed to get to/from places as there is no restaurant/cafe in walking distance. Fab location to explore Harris & Lewis, with beautiful walks and wildlife on the doorstep.

This place might not be for you if glamping isn't your thing or if you prefer spacious accommodation ;-) We had the best time and would return in a heartbeat!

Location is superb, one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stayed at. There is no one around apart from an occasional car or cyclist passing by. Perfect to get away and have a few days with a book. The hut itself is incredibly beautiful and the owner’s attention to detail is superb. It is very clean and tidy, and has absolutely everything one needs for their stay. No wifi, of course, which is great, but 4G signal is surprisingly good. Exceptional wee place!

The winds were really strong for a few nights, and the wee hut was shaking quite strongly, like an earthquake, so not much sleep… Likely because it stands (very securely!) on little wheels, which is very cute, but because of the gap underneath the wind is felt much stronger. Obviously nothing can be done with the weather, though!

The Fisherman's Hut was compact but very well equipped. We loved the peaceful setting and liked that it was only a short drive to good restaurants, beaches and walks.

The bathroom basin was very small although we appreciate this was all the space would allow.

Beautiful, remote location . Right on the bank of a sea loch. With regular sightings of eagles, seals and on the rising tide, otters . Centrally located on Harris close to the higher mountains, and in easy reach of Stornaway. The fisherman's hut is small, as expected, but very well designed and fitted.
