Forgemasters House

Location excellent, self catering, roomy enough for 8 adults

Some of the bedding could do with updating and thicker curtains in one of the double bedrooms, a bread knife and more better sized mugs

The house was in a central position close to a small supermarket. Also within short walking distance were two lovely pubs offering fair priced meals and drinks. Further along the road were many cafes and shops to browse. A short drive away was Bliss Hill Museum which we visited and thoroughly enjoyed. My Grandchildren took part in several activities. The property had as described four good sized bedrooms and a fully fitted kitchen. As described for better weather a small outside courtyard would suffice for eating outdoors. Parking for our two cars was a bonus, the key entry system worked well. Overall we had a great time, the property was respected by my family as always and left clean.

House could do with some TLC, bathroom on middle floor needs updating. Carpets need cleaning or replacing, also need to provide a simple brush and shovel system for the wooden floors, on our last day we found a brush with half a handle tucked behind the fridge. in the bedroom with single beds some form of small bedside table or corner shelf would be helpful for e.g. glasses or drinking vessels. Kitchen table a little large for room making cooking around it a little awkward. Would have ben helpful to know of road closures, when that road opens can imagine the road noise would increase significantly.

Great location to iron bridge. Walking distance to everywhere. I would definately recommend to anyone.

I've just had a 2 night stay at the forgemaster house and I can honestly say it was brilliant on arrival we found welcome gifts 🎁 in the kitchen the place was nice clean and may I say warm as the weather as been so cold out the beds were spotless and so comfy. I had two great nights sleep and just felt so at home 2 nights wasn't enough and I will definitely be rebooking a visit here in the summer and would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone thank u for having us x

Only one blanket for double bed (for two old men), problems with heating regulation in some rooms.

House was clean and comfortable. There was plenty of kitchen equipment and was nice to have a couple of parking spaces. Owner left a lovely cake, bottle of wine, milk, eggs and bread which were a nice touch. Other basics such as tea, coffee, sugar, cooking oil etc were all also available for our use. The beds were all very comfortable.

The smoke detector in the hall randomly went off at 2 am and again at 3 am which wasn't pleasant! The cooker hood extraction didn't work and neither did the wall extractor in the kitchen, these need repairing/rectifying.
