"Peaceful, beautiful views, cosy home to relax in, easy and lovely walk into town and beach. Loved our stay!"

10.0

The view was stunning and the location so peaceful. Really nice and easy walk to Ventnor beach and town. Also a nice walk the other direction. We discovered on our last day there was a little cafe there and a lovely pottery shop. I loved just staring out to sea from the patio and from the living room. The double bed was so comfy and I was told the other beds were good too. Haylie was so helpful and responded right away to all my questions. We explored a lot of the island and decided Ventnor was our favorite spot, so we were very happy with our stay.

"Very relaxing stay with great views out to sea. Great walking to be had locally."

Lovely location, close to see. Great views.

Nothing not to like- just a very small suggestion but a cafetière would have been great for coffee drinkers.

"I’ve stayed here a number of times before and never been disappointed. Hayley always ensures her properties are immacula"

10.0

Everything, but particularly the location and aspect.

Parking was quite difficult, even for a small car, as the entry width was very narrow.

"A stunning, beautiful and quiet location 😍"

I didn't like having to pay for electricity through slot meter . I've not paid on top for electricity in a property since the early 80s and we go away up to four times a year . Perhaps this property requires it ,but maybe mention it when the person books the property. If I'm being honest , and I guess you do , I didn't see any mention of that until after the booking . It might make a difference to someone whether they book or not ,especially as it adds to the cost of the visit .

"Fabulous view, quiet area though a lot of steep roads. Delightful overall."

The view - about 180 degrees of open sea. No land but the shipping lane is just visible (use marinetraffic app to identify ships and where they are going). You can set up the patio chairs outside the door to watch and chill out. Waves just about audible. The Ventnor Wall Lizards (they do exist) kept popping out to sun themselves and catch insects which was charming. Keysafe easy and useful. Well furnished - two sofas, sleeping for six, about 8 patio chairs and six dining chairs. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and pans, though lack of staples like tea, sugar and coffee was irritating. We're used to Airbnb where such things may be left by the previous person. Very dark and quiet at night which can be a shock but we all slept soundly most nights. Two car parks with recycling area and good for walks. Shops in Ventnor interesting with Tesco Extra and Co-op and several takeaways. Plenty of pegs but be prepared to clear cobwebs on the outdoor line. Very helpful landlady.

(On reflection none of the bad points spoilt the holiday - overall we have happy memories) Kids bedroom tight even for a child with 2 beds, toys, wardrobe, sunbeds. Only just room to squeeze between beds. Main bedroom has large wardrobe (a rail may be better) which gives a very narrow gap to squeeze through. Storage short. Very few plugs so work out where to charge. Fridge door doesn't close by itself (our food defrosted once). Towel rail needs heating to be on. Wifi is based in adjacent cabin - if they allow electric to run out so does your wifi, and it was not strong enough to guarantee a full phone call . Despite the name you cannot see the sunset because of the angle (dawn is lovely though) and patio only in sunlight in the morning. Parking the car at the chalet partially blocks the view but there was always a space in the car park. Local roads are very steep, narrow and winding. Driveway is very steep so we only used it twice. Once we got over these, we had a lovely time, and the locals were very friendly.
