Banyan Tree

It was a very quirky and liveable, good sized place to stay. Excellent clean and comfortable facilities. Our hosts were extremely helpful at all stages. Easy walk to the Mediaeval sights, excellent supermarkets and good restaurants close by. The accomodation is opposite the school should you need extra directions.

Stayed for 6 nights. Great for access to Obidos old town and an excellent base to explore the coastal areas in our car. There was a large free parking area opposite the property and two supermarkets close by. The house was lovely with lots of space, a terrace downstairs and a larger wrap around terrace upstairs. Good communication from the owner(s). Would highly recommend. Many thanks for a lovely stay. Best Ian&Steff

The owner was very friendly, helpful, good-humored, and had a pragmatic introduction to the space. We enjoyed the location with great access to grocery stores, 7min walk to Óbidos entrance, and free parking. Lovely cats in the neighborhood. Friendly expat neighbors, cute spiral staircase to upper bedroom,and love upstairs patio with a table for four and fresh air. Also, the owners were VERY kind when one of our party was not feeling well, with helpful advice and a later checkout. A nicely appointed, more homelike stay (as opposed to an anonymous Abnb).

A personal preference, but we found the main bed to be quite stiff. But we may just have different tastes.

The view. The house was equipped with all things needed. Location was great! Very friendly owners. Absolutely love the area!

This was my second stay at Banyan Tree traveling from the USA (I also stayed here four years ago). I love the location both directly in Obidos and for visiting other sites in the immediate area. The communications with our host were quick and helpful.

The winding stairway to the bedroon may not be for everyone - that's your decision. I find it to be part of the charm of the Banyan Tree. Enjoy.
