Villa Fraele

The flat is spacious, cosy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable visit. It's ideally located for exploring eastern Sicily—close to Catania, Mount Etna, Taormina, Syracuse, and several other must-see spots. The highlight of our stay was without a doubt the breathtaking view of Mount Etna from the flat. We were incredibly lucky on our first night to witness the volcano erupting, with lava visibly flowing down the mountainside. It was a once-in-a-lifetime, unforgettable experience that we’ll never forget. Our host, Alberto, was fantastic—super friendly, responsive, and helpful. He provided us with a great list of local recommendations and tips that helped us get the most out of our trip.

Breakfast is listed as included, but it’s not in the traditional sense. Alberto stocks the fridge with breakfast items like cheese, ham, and eggs, but guests need to prepare and cook it themselves.

Alberto was an excellent host who went out his way to help us and provide recommendations for places to visit and restaurants etc. It is a spacious apartment with everything you need.

The location was peaceful and beautiful and on a clear day you can see Etna. Good and fast internet connection, the car can be safely parked in the yard.The owner was friendly and very helpful.

All the reviews are true. Alberto is really a great host. the aparment looks really good inside. really. there is a big refrigerator with freezer, which is/was really useful. the view: one side - not really a sea view but on the other hand. on the other side. there is a Mamma Etna view. really good. in the morning. in the evening. always. you definiately need a car. it is not a disadvantage. I guess in sicily you need a car. in some (4-12) minutes drive you can reach plenty of shops, restaurants, etc. and there is big parking area at the apartment and gate which can be closed which is really usefule if you have a rented car. the apartment is really well equipped, really. and all the nececcary stuff also included. i mean for example washing up liquid for the washning machine, capsule for the dishwasher, etc. which were really useful for us. we went from central of europe, so I would say the microwave ove a litle bit was missing. but the kitchen is really well equipped, so we were able to cook everything easily. at Alberto the breakfast means He prepares a lot of stuff. and the guests eat what/when eat. (we discussed the details in advance) some inmportant: coffee - coffee maker(2 types) with i would say endless coffee/capsule. ham(blackforestham)/cheese - really good quality.. really delicious.. these were the only which were not enough for us.. as I mentioned we come from central europe, for us the breakfast is the "most important" meal.. so I guess we eat much more then other guests. yoghurt - on the other hand, yoghurt was much more than we needed.. we ate a lot... but we still left more than 10. wine(s) good quality. italian/sicilian "cake"s: really delicious. honestly we ate more or less when we arrived (not for breakfast) its defanately not Alberto's mistake.. fruits - really delicious. once we got from Alberto a tipical sicilian food.. I dont remember for the name.. but was delicious..

A fantastic warm welcome from our host, Alberto. The apartment was immaculate and filled with local speciality food and drink, including cakes and pastries, fruit, milk, bread, wine and lots of other goodies. The view from our balcony was picture perfect. We had use of a large bbq and loungers on the ground floor. Alberto spent time with us in the evening when we first arrived, to listen to what we wanted to do on our vacation and made suggestions, which helped a lot. Throughout our stay, he was just a what's app away from answering any questions we had, and he wanted us to have the best time. The restaurants and attractions recommended were great. Etna was an unreal experience. Lots of different types of beaches from the volcanic rock pebbles in Acireale to the finer stretch of beaches nr Marina di Cottone The local butchers were 500m away and were super helpful with great products. Lots of supermarkets within a 5 min drive. Acireale is a 12 minute drive from the apartment where there are lots of places to park on the side of the road. Some are free, some metered and some you need the easy parking app for. Parking is cheap. Loads going on on the centre of Acireale. Concerts, bars, restaurants, incredible churches. A fantastic time with a wonderful host. Very sad to leave.

You do need a car to get to everything.

The host, Alberto was very generous and helpful, they waited for us with some fresh food. He guided us regarding the activities in th earea. The beds were very confortable.

The furniture is a bit old fashioned and the sofa was too soft. In genaral, we could see a lot of rubbish along the roads in the area.

Dear Alberto, My family & I are very grateful for the opportunity to meet and stay at your villa. In the morning when I get up, I drink coffee with a view of Etna volcano, and on the other side I could see the seaside. Great location! We had a great time in Sicily and thanks to your advices we stayed and visited the best places! Alberto, you do everything with exceptional style! Nice place close to Catania and the Etna

The location and house were great. The apartment is spacious with everything you need. The view of the mountain Etna is magnificent from the balcony! We enjoyed our stay and appreciate Alberto's hospitality and care. Thank you!

Villa Fraele is a great place to stay for visiting Etna and Taormina. We were there for 3 nights at the beginning of our trip. Our host Alberto gave us a good advice both about restaurants and how to spend our vacation. The villa has everything we needed, and Alberto had also made sure that we had water and other cold drinks in the fridge, as well as everything to have breakfast.
