Niagara Ridge Retreat Catlins

Amazing views from bedrooms as well as living areas, spa was awesome & a great roomy luxury home. Fabulous to have a heat pump as well as fireplace with a full stack of wood. Host great communicating about supplies in the area so we came prepared

The house, with its perfectly placed windows does full justice to the stunning surroundings. Bedrooms were very comfortable and the kitchen was wonderful, too!

Wish we'd known there was a kindling shocking the yard as we could have made a proper fire. Also, there were fewer toiletries than in comparable properties so we found ourselves without shower basics.

Absolutely amazing views!!! It was a beautiful and modern house nestled in farmland in the Niagara region in the Catlins. They had well stocked wood for the fireplace, and the spa was kept nice and warm, sitting outside under the stars.

Route to the house is challenging and there are no convenient stores nearby. So need to stock up on all your groceries first.

Niagara Ridge Retreat will always be remembered as the place where we first caught the aurora australis (Southern Lights). We rented the accommodation for 3 days 2 nights. Before the trip, we hoped to see the Southern Lights. So imagine the excitement when we actually caught it on the 2nd night/3rd morning of our stay, in the comfort of the accommodation. The location is perfect with amazing views. The weather was a bit chilly during our stay so we did not use the outdoor spa. The rooms are spacious and well heated. Beds are comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped. This is one of the best accommodations we had stayed. Highly recommend!

This was by far the best accommodation we have stayed for our trip to date. This magnificent house perched on the top of a hill had every amenity that we could possibly want - warm fireplace, hot spa tub and exceptional views. I would like to hide out here and turn off my phone for a whole week or more. The Catlins is the most beautiful place in the South Island and this residence is by far the most beautiful place to stay while visiting this area.

The steep gravel driveway was not really loved by our SUV but we made it to the top so all good.
