Balwest Cottage

A lovely house in a great location - handy for the beach. Clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The enclosed garden is brilliant for a play area.

The location and space were great. Good parking for 2 cars and a secure garden for the dog.

We felt an inventory was overdue. There weren’t enough water glasses, cereal bowls or cutlery. Only a handful of clothes pegs (left scattered on the grass under the clothes line), no laundry basket to take the washing outside (it was listed on the items) and an empty washing up liquid bottle. An inside clothes horse would be an excellent addition for drying on a rainy day. Also, no shaving plug in the bathroom and the leak in the shower door was a pain and could be easily remedied (with the right equipment) by taking the shower guard flap at the top and putting it at the bottom instead - we followed the notices to use towels to plug the gap but we feel it should be sorted before more guests use the cottage. Lastly, there really should be a “mind your head” sign going in as well as the one going out (and some padding above). We are a tall family and have stayed in places like this before which all have these in place. Thank you

The cottage is very comfortable, clean and cozy, and all amenities are very good. The location is fine and a good jumping-off point for many lovely locations. There is good space for two cars to park. We would strongly recommend Balwest Cottage as a great place to stay in western Cornwall.

The shower is excellent ... but the cubicle is not well sealed and water gets outside onto the floor and through the floorboards unless you use a lot of the available towelling to mop it up. This should be reasonably easy to fix. The drawers in the conservatory were not as clean as the rest of the house.
