Old Orchard Cottage

The cottage is beautiful, the location is perfect and Michael and Fiona are lovely. We are already planning our next visit.

Nothing to dislike

Everything was as expected. Hosts left us to ourselves after explaining the required info for the facilities.

There was nothing that we did not like

Lovely cottage, very well equipped and comfortable. Good location for getting to all the places we needed for our coastal walk, and lovely and comfortable at the end of the day.

We loved this cottage. We would happily live here. Everything was perfect, even the slopping floor. The location was good too, even though the single lane roads are a bit scary for those with an EU car ;) Everything was thought through, from the items in the kitchen, to the vine covered terrace to the book shelf with a great selection of books, and games. We found ourselves sitting in the reading chair, and reading. Something we do not get to do often nowadays. We forgot to buy washing powder but the hosts, gave us some on request, with no question. They also lent the kids hammers for Fossil hunting. We found many with those hammers at the bottom of the cliffs at Seatown. My youngest, fell in love with the two Shetland Ponies on the field adjacent to the property. We will come back, but maybe without the three kids, to enjoy the peace and quiet and that book corner.

Our only really picky point would be the pillows on the main bed were a bit thin, but that is just a personal preference. The bed its self was huge and very comfortable. So even this tiny negative wasn't really an issue for us.

Such a lovely setting. Bedroom upstairs was perfect for our three children and the bed downstairs was HUGE. Two areas to sit outside. Had so much storage as well.

Perfect weekend away with mum, quiet location, and comfortable no frills cottage. Had everything needed for a comfortable easy weekend. Loved the vase of wild flowers on the table and that basics all catered for in the kitchen. Thank you.

Very peaceful, some lovely walks and very dog friendly

Gorgeous cottage set within idyllic Devonshire countryside including a babbling river and miles of footpaths for walking the dog. Much bigger than looks in the photos and the double height space in the kitchen is a lovely space. Stocked with everything you need for a self-catered stay including a super comfy bed. Extremely dog friendly owners and the cottage has a private (very pretty) garden (though it is not fully enclosed for a dog who likes to explore)
